Bab 8: Flashback: Hinata Hyuga
"Failure."
The cold voice of Hiashi Hyuga, filled with disappointment, rang through the ears of a freshly graduated Hinata.
Afterall, she just lost in a spar against her little sister who was three years younger than her, vary badly.
"You can do as you wish with her."
Hiashi didn't even look back at her jonin-sensei, Kurenai, and went back to his room.

She was a failure of ninja. Not being able to fight anyone or anything properly. Not having enough willpower and courage to do anything substantial on her missions.
The only thing she had was a Byakugan, a powerful one at that.
When she entered the Chunin Exams, it was only because of Kiba and Shino. She didn't want them to be not able to compete in the exam because of her.
And then, it happened.
Her world went black, and she then woke up in some sort of secret facility, wearing some kinds of bodysuit, with people in same bodysuits and lab-coats working around her.
She was tightly bound like a prisoner, with her chakra sealed.
"Hinata Hyuga. Why did you try to kill your father, and rob the graves of the Hyuga clan?"
A purple haired girl appeared before her, asking her such a weird question.
"No! I didn't-"
Suddenly, memories started flooding in.
During the Chinin Exams, in the forest of death, her team had encountered Orochimaru.
And he bit her neck, and gave her a strange mark.
After that, when she woke up in the hospital, she didn't feel like herself. She flew in rage, filled with immense power, and killed the nurse who was taking care of her.
Neji tried to stop her, but she gleefully activated his slave seal.
Her father stopped her and she fell unconscious.
But then, when she woke up again in her bedroom, she saw her father sleeping by her bed, frowning, as if the cold man was taking care of her.
Anger came over her, and she tried to kill him.
Then, she became unconscious again.
And when she regained consciousness, she was robbing graves after killing her guards with the slave seal, including Neji.
'Atleast he didn't die from a stick'
A dark voice whispered in her mind.
Then, she was caught in the act by ANBU, and brought here.
"W-what is happening to me!?"
The purple haired girl injected her with something, and smiled at her reassuringly.
"Don't worry. Orochimaru did something that messed with your head, but we have removed it.
You are no longer under his influence."
Hinata sighed in relief.
"You can call me Shiori. You will be my one of my assistant in the ANBU from now on. You can't go back to the outside world, or you will get executed."
"W-what!?"
"Afterall, you did try to kill Hyuga clan's head, killed several branch family members, and robbed several graves of the clan.
If not for Danzo-sama saving you, you would be dead by now."
"B-but-"
"Activate your Byakugan."
She could only do it obediently, still not on terms with her situation.
'Byakugan!'
As her veins bulged, and Byakugan was activated, she felt weirdly powerful. As if her Byakugan has grown stronger. A lot. Almost 2-3 times more powerful.
"How does it feel?"
"It's powerful..."
Shiori-sama put her hands on her shoulder, and looked into her eyes.
"You may have killed your people, but you have a chance of redemption. Protect Konoha from shadows.
Abandon your name, your past, your future. Abandon yourself.
And become a part of us. The ROOTs who provide nourishment to the tree of Konoha.
Join us..."
Shiori-sama said, her voice almost hypnotizing.
Her bindings came off, and she was free. Her body wrapped up in a black bodysuit with a white spider-symbol. She was feeling powerful, almost intoxicated.
"You are not Hinata Hyuga from now on. Just Hinata.
You are special. You have the potential to become one of the strongest people in the world. The potential to awaken Tenseigan."
Tenseigan, what's that?
Her inner voice asked, and Shiori-sama smirked at the question, as if she could her her thoughts.
"The ultimate evolution of Byakugan. The eyes of the ancestor of the Hyuga clan."
"Or, I can release you back to the light. Where they will kill you."
"I-I will follow you!"
"Good girl. Afterall, moon shines beautifully in the darkness of night. The sun hides it away.
Under Danzo-sama's guidance, I will bring out the true potential in you."

From then on, Hinata went through harsh training and experimentation. Her weak nature was replaced with a cold, power-hungry nature, wanting to awaken the Tenseigan one day.
The symbiote she had, her true self, amplified her powers and chakra. It integrated the Kaguya clan's kekkai genkai directly into her body, which made her Byakugan more powerful as well.
She ate the brains of several Hyugas brought to her, her symbiote absorbing their Byakugans, and then, she went through an implantation.
The body of a white man, with Byakugan, was before her.
The symbiote absorbed his eyes, and while it covered her face, she could feel her Byakugan on the brink of evolution.
A black diamond mark was implanted into her left palm, and she was slowly turning into a being that was the definition of power.
Yet, the absorption of the power will take several years, and she still haven't awakened the Tenseigan.
And then, she got the mission.
Kill Hiashi Hyuga, Hanabi Hyuga, while not hiding her face, absorb their Byakugans, and join the Akatsuki as an undercover agent of the ROOT.
She surprisingly didn't feel anything about this mission. Afterall, she wasn't a Hyuga. She was just Hinata. She didn't have any family. She is just a loyal servant of Shiori-sama and a ROOT of Konoha.
She obediently killed the targets, fled the village, and joined Akatsuki as an undercover spy.
As she come across Team 7 and Shiori-sama, she prepared for an intense battle so that her cover does not get blowed.
'Hinata, looks like you are handling yourself well.'
Shiori-sama's pleasing voice rang in her head, and she internally smiled.
'I missed you, Shiori-sama. I will show you how much I have grown.'
'I am looking forward to it.'
