Bab 20: Samurai order
Other than the chakra weapon techniques,the samurai's kenjustu itself is very formidable,with some movements allowing you to attack a experienced shinobi before they could cast a ninjutsu using hand seals,such techniques what demonstrated in Mifune's fight against a reanimated Hanzo in Naruto Shippuden.
Not only that,some techniques even allow samurais to counter ninjutsus by cutting them in half!While most samurais don't have any method to repel or counter genjutsu,most of them have a strong enough will to resist genjutsus to some degree.
In other words,samurais in Naruto are underrated af!
In order to join the samurai order,one must meet certain requirements.Firstly,they must have to complete a set of basic training in kenjustu.Secondly,they must have a satisfactory amount of physical strength in order to wield metallic weapons properly not just wooden ones.And lastly,they must be personally picked by one of the samurai captain from one of the 20 divisions.
Luckily I barely meet all of the requirements ,for the first condition, because I've been training kenjutsu with my father and Uncle Isane since I was 2 so my skills are barely enough.It was the same with the second requirement,because of my training in taijutsu,more specifically gentle fang,my strength is comparable to a 13 year old,I had enough strength to wield an average sword.
And for the last condition,Uncle Isane himself is the captain of the 19th samurai division which is now lacking three members so I convinced him to take me in.The samurais have three basic ranks among them:the normal samurais,20 samurai captains and the samurai general.The current samurai general is Mifune,the 37th samurai general of the land of iron branch.There are 20 divisions in total with each division having 50 normal samurais and 1 samurai captain that leads them.
While apprentices and full fledged samurais have clear differences in strength,they are not official categorizations so they are treated the same in the grand scheme of things.
Samurais are tasked with patrolling the areas which their divisions operate in to protect civilians and arrest criminals,sometimes they'll be assigned escort missions and subjugation missions though only veterans or trusted samurais are assigned these kinds of missions by their samurai captain.
While I'll become an official samurai soon,I'm still technically a five year old,needless to say,I'll be stuck with only patrolling for a while before Isane could let me participate on missions.

As Kuki was busy sleeping in his and Isane's carriage,he heard a knock on the carriage's door.
"Kuki,wake up we're here"Isane's gentle voice reached Kuki's ears which awoke him.
"Okay Uncle Isane,let me get ready first"Kuki said as he changed out of his childish pajamas and wore his face bandages to cover up his scar.
After getting ready,Kuki stepped out of the carriage and looked ahead to see a big gate with the word "protect" carved on its doors.
"Well kid,welcome to the 19th samurai division's headquarters!"Isane said with a big smile while roughing up Kuki's black hair.
