Bab 43: Chapter 43: Raikage
As Oden traveled through the land of fire, he felt someone trailing him. At first, he was confused as to who it was until he realized that it was a ninken, belonging to Kakashi.
At that point, he figured that Kakashi received a mission on his own, but as long as he kept his distance Oden wouldn't care.
If Kakashi was too near Oden, then if a war breaks out later, Kakashi might be in danger, so Oden hoped that he would keep his distance.
As Oden walked towards the land of lightning, he realized that he might need to show his cards for the first time.
The eternal Mugengan, similar to the Mangekyo Sharingan, has a unique ability in each eye.
Oden hadn't shown those abilities before as he didn't see it fit, but this time he might need to.
Soon, two weeks had passed by and Oden had stopped outside of Kumogakure, the village hidden in the clouds. It was a beautiful sight as the village was hidden in a mountain range between clouds.
The village also had districts on the ground beneath the mountains.
Oden was far enough to not get noticed and close enough to spy on their Chakra signature.
He closed his eyes and started feeling all the charas, there were 4 big ones, probably on Kage level, whilst there were 2 two others slightly below that level but still stronger than most elite Jonin.
'just based on chakra signatures they are similar to Konoha, only slightly weaker.' Oden thought.
He tried finding his clansmen amongst the 100,000 people it was impossible.
Oden carefully infiltrated Kumo and started walking its streets while changing his looks using the transformations technique, the henge no jutsu.
As he walked through the village he tried to map out the area.
His plan was simple, knock out some important weaklings and use them as hostages. A life for a life... Except that it wouldn't work.
If he does that and returns, Kumo might actually start a war, which will lead to a catastrophe for both sides.
Oden has to show his might, so that his presence becomes a reason for them to keep far away from Konoha.
But he also needs to Secure his clansmen so his idea is to find two hostages, lure out the powerhouses, get his clansmen to safety, maybe leave them with Kakashi, then instill fear inside of every Kumo Shinobi.
As Oden walked closer and closer to the Kage building, he kept listening to all the civilians in their day-to-day speech.
Kakashi stopped outside of Kumo, he wasn't sure about how to act since he didn't know what Oden had planned, so he stopped outside waiting to see what Oden would do.
As for Oden, he noticed that some Kumo Anbu had noticed him and started stalking him from the shadows.
'Since they're stalking me that means that I don't have much time to act before they retaliate.' Oden thought.
The anbu had noticed that someone was giving off a scary aura, and that person seemed to have almost no Chakra so they got suspicious and started following the said person to make sure that no one is invading them.
They noticed that the person that they followed walked into a store, so they waited outside but the more they waited the more they realized that something was wrong as the person's Chakra signature had disappeared.
As for Oden, he had flashed away, near the homage building. And there he found two elders walking in expensive-looking kimono. They looked important at the same time, they didn't have clan emblems on them.
'They'll have to do!' Oden thought as he flashed behind them and knocked them out.
After picking them up he hurried outside of Kumo, To where he felt Kakashi waiting.
In the Raikage building, an Anbu was on his knees, explaining how he had lost a suspicious-looking fella. Soon another Anbu arrived, landing on one knee he hurriedly told the raikage of what had happened. "Raikage-Sama, two of our elders were kidnapped right outside of the kage building!"
As soon as the Raikage heard that, he disappeared in a flash of lightning.
Outside the building, where the two elders had been knocked out, a muscular man with brown skin, light blonde hair, and a goatee arrived with lightning sparkling everywhere.
He wore a white haori with nothing under it, showing his muscular chest. On his head, he wore a yellow kage hat.
His fists were clenched while sparkling lighting came out of them. He suddenly felt a huge Chakra signature outside of Kuma, somehow he felt the signature was familiar but he couldn't remember from where.
But the Raikage understood that the person crazily releasing his chakra like that, wanted to be found out. The Raikage assumed that there was some connection between the said person and the kidnapped elders.
In a flash of lightning, the Raikage disappeared.
"Are you sure this is wise... The raikage isn't an easy opponent." Kakashi said.
"Stop talking like a weakling. The only ones that need to use their brains are the weak ones, people like me only need my fists to solve problems, this is the difference between us Kakashi." Oden said.
"Didn't you tell the genins during their promotion that Shinobi needs to use their brains?" Kakashi said with a twitch of an eye.
"cough cough" Oden coughed, his cheeks became pink in embarrassment.
"erm... That's another matter altogether." Oden said as he turned his face around.
"Sure..." Kakashi said as he picked up a special book and started reading, leaving the rest to Oden.
Soon, probably only a minute or two after Oden had arrived, a flash of lightning struck 20 meters from Oden's and Kakashi's location.
In the spot where the lightning had struck stood a full, bulky raikage, looking angry as he saw Kakashi holding two unconscious elders from his village.
"Copy cat Kakashi of the Sharingan... And who might you be!" The angry raikage asked Oden.
"Before you stands Zaraki Oden, the patriarch of the greatest clan. I AM HERE FOR MY CLANSMEN!" Odenn said his last words very angrily.
The Raikage started releasing heavy loads of lightning chakra that enveloped him.
