"It's about time we split up here. Any longer, and we might risk someone picking up on this."
Natsuki was concerned that his quiet meeting with Ayane might somehow be discovered. If it were, the consequences would be a deep probe into both their lives, potentially risking all his efforts so far.
"You don't need to worry, Natsuki-kun. I've already activated the Byakugan, and within a kilometer radius, I can detect anyone before they get close. I already scouted the area before you got here."
Ayane performed a hand sign as she spoke, causing the veins near her eyes to swell and her white pupils to turn pale blue. This was the Hyuga clan's legendary kekkei genkai—the Byakugan.
For Hyuga clan members who possessed it, the Byakugan could be paired with their clan's Gentle Fist techniques, making the style considerably more powerful. Beyond enhancing Gentle Fist, the Byakugan also provided advantages like farsight, x-ray vision, superior chakra perception, and increased chakra release strength.
At her current level, Ayane could fully monitor everything within a kilometer radius, meaning no one could approach without her knowledge. Whether they hid behind cover or concealed their presence with jutsu, the Byakugan would detect their chakra system, giving Ayane confidence that they would be safe.
Although the Byakugan didn't grant quite the same combat edge as the Uchiha clan's Sharingan, its strategic advantage was far greater. In a large-scale battle, the Byakugan made Konoha nearly impervious to surprise attacks, ensuring they could hold the line no matter the circumstances.
"When did you awaken the Byakugan, Ayane?"
A hint of surprise appeared in Natsuki's eyes. From his knowledge, the Byakugan typically had a higher activation rate than the Sharingan, but it was still rare for Hyuga children to awaken it before the age of ten. Ayane, at only Nine, was already Byakugan-activated, which indicated a natural talent for her age.
"Only recently," Ayane replied, smiling with the Byakugan still activated. "I thought it would be a fun surprise, so I waited until now to tell you, Natsuki-kun."
"That's impressive," Natsuki said, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "In that case, we should adjust our plans a bit. This might speed up some of our research. If you're available, come back to this Place Either tomorrow or sometime near Sunday, as I will give you a new Workout plan based on the Byakugan."
The Byakugan was a valuable source of unique data, and Natsuki had every intention of analyzing it thoroughly.
"Although, I DO need some Information about it, so please explain everything you know about the Byakugan." while Natsuki knew about how the Byakugan works, it is better safe than sorry.
"I know Natsuki-kun's experiments are legitimate…um…you're not planning to do anything strange, are you?" Ayane asked, teasing him a little.
"Strange? I don't know what you mean. You already know it's a proper experiment."Natsuki shot her an annoyed look. Is this kid really trying to tease Natsuki? a adult man in a child's body-
You know, that is not the proper way to say it.
"Well, maybe, but…didn't you say you had to check every part of my body once, just to come up with a scientifically accurate training regimen? No one could say if that was really necessary." Every part of her body? Natsuki didn't recall anything like that.
Besides, why is she trying AND Failing to Flirt with him?. He wasn't here to overstep any boundaries. He tries not to gag at the situation he landed himself in. He tries to not show how disgusted he feels.
"Ayane, you're really getting carried away here… If that training regimen didn't work, you'd have already complained… Anyway, I still have other things to handle, so we'll leave it here for today."
"Just teasing you. I'll find some time soon to come over for the checkup. See you soon."
"Yeah, see you soon. Just keep an eye out and make sure no one sees you leaving."
As Ayane left in the opposite direction through the woods, Natsuki started heading back home.

Once he arrived, Natsuki set to work, analyzing the blood sample Ayane had provided using his lab equipment. Even ordinary blood contained a wealth of hidden information and distinct properties.
For instance, even blood within the same blood type varied significantly between members of a Kekkei Genkai clan and regular shinobi. Generally speaking, Kekkei Genkai shinobi had higher cellular vitality, with certain unique hereditary markers that could be passed onto future generations.
Natsuki knew that chakra itself was the foundation of all transformations. Except for Dojutsu, since those are Bloodline Limits, and cannot be achieved by Combining Nature Transformations. In the shinobi world, chakra was used to manipulate shape and nature transformations, and it was through the fusion of these changes that most Kekkei Genkai techniques originated.
Kekkei Genkai abilities often emerged when a particular part of the body, influenced by chakra, transformed in a way that fundamentally changed an individual's genetic code. This transformation, carried along in chakra, was then passed to the next generation, providing them with a natural affinity for the Kekkei Genkai.
In this way, Kekkei Genkai families were established.
This genetic advantage gave Kekkei Genkai users a natural edge over ordinary shinobi, who had no access to these unique abilities. However, his primary goal with Ayane's blood sample wasn't to analyze how powerful or special Kekkei Genkai users were.
Instead, Natsuki was interested in the core DNA of the Kekkei Genkai. he knows How they are formed, BUT his goal on why he is doing these experiments is different.
The end goal was him finding out how to use Ninshu, Not Ninjutsu, but Ninshu, the one which was created by the Sage of Six Paths as a peace offering to the world.
Natsuki had three choices on how he could properly get stronger and leave the village, since he is a civilian without any Kekkei Genkai. he could either Steal a Dojutsu, which he keeps it if it is necessary, Learn Sage Mode, but that is not possible for now as a person would need a strong body to even attempt it. He doesn't have that yet, so he is training his body until he is strong enough.
but, his main research included finding ways to recreate Ninshu, an ability that predates Ninjutsu. Ninjutsu is the weaponized version of Ninshu, and if he could somehow Understand Ninshu, then he can understand Ninjutsu.
He had already collected blood samples from Ayane and, at one point, from Ruri, though he had to do it secretly, and the only possible way for that to occur was through making her bleed during sparring.
From the beginning, Natsuki had divided his chakra research into two categories: applied chakra and essential chakra.
Applied chakra focused on practical usage—ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, and similar techniques used in battle. Essential chakra research, however, sought to understand the nature of chakra itself.
Using water as an analogy, he wasn't interested in how water could be used but instead wanted to understand how water formed, what it was composed of, and what processes created it.
These questions swirled constantly in Natsuki's mind.
No matter how much shinobi evolved their techniques, all paths inevitably returned to chakra as the foundation. All branches led back to the source.
Therefore, everything Natsuki did was aimed at uncovering chakra's true essence. Chakra was the foundation of everything, the source of all creation. If he could unlock its secrets, understanding Kekkei Genkai or even Konoha's Caged Bird Seal would become feasible.
At that point, he might even lose interest in Kekkei Genkai as a pursuit. But, as straightforward as this path might appear, it was proving to be exceptionally challenging. Natsuki had combed through every book in the Ninja Academy library, and not a single one addressed chakra's origins; they only discussed established jutsu, not chakra as a fundamental source.
his own Knowledge was very lacking, as due to the years he spent here, his own memories are fading away little by little. That is the biggest problem he is currently facing, trying to somehow remember what he learnt in his previous world, how Chakra was intended to be Used by Haguromo.
It could be that shinobi were simply treated as tools and felt no need to wonder where their power originated. There was no doubt that science had vast potential—Natsuki fully believed that.
However, in this world, science wasn't based on things like mathematics or chemistry. It was built on chakra. In a world where chakra defined all truth, science couldn't operate outside of it.
This was why Natsuki was convinced that Konoha hadn't yet fully explored chakra's origin.
Was it a difference in perspective, or simply a lack of understanding? If Konoha had any theoretical research on chakra's origin, it might at least provide him with a foundation. But without anything to go on, he would have to build his research entirely from scratch.
Running his hand through his hair, Natsuki hoped he wouldn't end up bald before too long.
After all, he had an appearance to keep up.
