Evelyn, who had been watching the entire scene unfold in horror, was quaking, her wide-eyed gaze fixated on the gruesome spectacle. She had heard rumors of Lily and Lyla in action before from her peers in the academy, their reputation for brutality well-deserved, but witnessing it up close was a whole different horror, and Tristan's dismissive and almost amused reaction to the gruesome scene set her teeth on edge.

Evelyn clung to the edge of the bar, her skin pale as fresh snow, her knuckles white from the firm grip. She felt a pang of panic as Lily and Lyla turned their deadly gaze onto her.
