Elysia squatted, her sapphire eyes scanning the faint trail that Tristan had left behind. The dry leaves crunched under her boots as she traced his path with her gloved hand, and her brow furrowed in concentration. "He's elusive, isn't he?" She mumbled to herself.

A slight rustle to her right made her look up, her gaze locking on Avelina's tanned face. Elysia could read the distracted expression, the darting emerald eyes that gave away her unease.

Elysia ran her fingers over the faint but distinct tire marks. It was clear to her that Tristan hadn't been subtle about his departure.

"Clever," Elysia muttered under her breath, brushing back a loose strand of hair from her face.

"What's clever?" Avelina asked, her attention redirected from the distant garden to Elysia's focused figure. Her eyes, usually filled with playful amusement, held a hint of concern.
