Samantha laughed, enjoying the moment.

There was a sparkle in her eyes that made Clyde avoid her gaze. His eyes wandered to the floor in shame. If only the old him would've known the truth about the academy and her trump card.

'If the divine beings truly existed, then surely the academy or himself would never exist.'

But the reality was different.

"They seem like a good match for what the task requires."

"What does the job require, ma—"

"Shhh, be quiet."

"Yes mistress."

"Good. Now listen closely. We need to create something to lure him out."

"And what will the bait be to draw his attention, Mistress?" He responded with a hint of fear in his eyes.

The last thing he wanted was to anger her. Not after what she had done previously and what would occur once word spread about her actions with the original exposing his true identity.
