Alexander sighed deeply while pinching the bridge of his nose. "This is making my headache worse," he muttered, taking another deep breath. He settled himself before deciding to visit his ill father.
The guards watched as Alexander approached his father's room. It was rare for him to visit the King, so the guards were delighted to see him.
"Your Highness," the guards greeted as they opened the enormous golden door to reveal a dark room with no candles lit for light.
Alexander ignored the guards as he stepped inside the King's room and waited until the door was closed. His eyes adjusted to the darkness as he began moving at the center.
"Your Majesty," Alexander stated sternly as he stopped before King Donovan's bed.
Donovan chuckled upon hearing his son's voice. "Ah, you finally came to visit me, son."
Alexander's eyes twitched upon hearing the word 'son.' He disliked it but didn't complain to avoid more talking between them.
