Bab 20: WHAT!

Abel waited for some kind of laughter from the gathered people. He really felt like a complete airhead for not understanding the joke the doctor had shared.

He smiled just to try and pretend he got the joke, but he was surprised that even the rest of the medical staff didn't seem to find it funny.

Most still had that smile of relief they had worn since entering the ward.

'Well, maybe it wasn't a joke then' Abel thought ...maybe it was just a medical reference for a tough case or something.

'Two long months,'

He repeated the words in his head, trying to crack their meaning. But try as he might, he couldn't find any sense in them.

He knew the doctor hadn't meant it literally... right? Maybe the doctor was mistaking him for another patient. It happens... doesn't it? I mean, it just wasn't possible, considering the accident had taken place just...

Abel froze as a significant fact registered in his brain.
