Bab 58: No love

Lin Ya stared at her son with a heavy heart and then at Gu Zichen. She was unsure what kind of dirty game this man was intending to play. However, she was aware that she truly lacked the power to fight back. She had no chance to win against him.

'Even if something happened to her, with his father around him, her son wouldn't be alone in this world, right?' This was the only thought that kept her steady without crumbling down.

Lin Ya took a deep breath with deep determination. She sat opposite to Gu Zichen with her son on her lap. She spoke softly while staring at the little boy in her arms "Little Bunny, do you want to see your father?"

The child didn't say anything on hearing her words but his eyes instantly brightened. It was always him to start a conversation regarding his father and whenever his father was mentioned, his mother would always avoid speaking about him. However this time, it was his mother to mention his father first and he knew how hard it was for her to talk about his father. He didn't want to answer immediately in fear his mother would get hurt. He tried best to hide his excitement but he was too young to contain his emotions.

Lin Ya nodded her head as she already got her answer and turned to look at Gu Zichen. She stared at him with unwavering gaze, silently agreeing to all his arrangements.

She recalled how he treated his wife like a precious treasure. Although, there were certain misunderstandings between the couple because of the recent news, she guessed Gu Zichen would always cherish his wife like a princess. Now, she felt this man wasn't really a bad person. He would only show hell to those who mess with him.

She thought Lin Ya would be spared after she agreed to all the conditions laid by Gu Zichen but never expected him to give her an attractive offer before leaving her house.

Lin Ya stared at the contract placed on the table before her for the hundredth time.

'Was she dreaming?' Lin Ya pinched her thigh only to cry out loud.

Gu Zichen slumped back on the back passenger seat, exhausted. His assistant, Chen Fei maneuvered the steering wheel with ease to let the car race under the dazzling street lights.

The atmosphere in the car was too low for Chen Fei to keep his composure, he wanted to lighten up the mood by playing some music.

Gu Zichen stared out of the window, taking in the busy streets with a gloomy heart.

He had been searching for his wife for days, he couldn't remember the last time he saw her. He closed his eyes, trying to figure out the place she could hide herself.

A few moments later, a female voice singing in english fluently was heard on the radio. Gu Zichen was instantly interested in the song after he noticed the singer's amazing voice, he asked Chen Fei to raise the volume. He nodded his head to the beat of the song, taking in the lyrics.

"Holding hands, walking down

the streets, had all the fun

we made the best memories

All those kisses, all that bliss

I should have known

it was all momentary,

What a shame, whom to blame

The song was something Gu Zichen heard for the first time. The lyrics were so sad, he wondered if the artist was going through some rough times just like him.

The singer's voice was so smooth and clear, Gu Zichen was curious about the artist. He was about to ask Chen Fei regarding the artist when the radio presenter gave the information he wanted.

"Hello, Listeners. You just heard CHARM's latest single, 'No Love'. After almost an year, the mysterious singer had finally blessed us with another amazing piece. The song has already garnered more than ten million streams in less than two hours..."

Gu Zichen who was initially interested only in the identity of the artist, showed a surprised expression on his face when he heard the word mysterious and about the level of popularity the singer had among people.

If she was so famous, how come he never heard of her or her songs? Gu Zichen was confused.

'Was it because he was too addicted to Li Xiaoyi in the past, he never bothered about other singers? How stupid of him'

Gu Zichen shook his head to wipe away all the thoughts about that unreasonable woman and picked his mobile, searching for the singer named CHARM.

It didn't take him to know that the artist name CHARM started to release her songs to public only in the past few years. She produced only about ten songs so far but every single song was a massive hit. She received tremendous fame immediately after her first song was released. She also won many prestigious music awards.

The only aspect which made her so special was that she kept her identity hidden, not even revealing her name or origin and face anywhere. She never gave any interviews or attended any award shows. She would always send a representative which left her music lovers disappointed.

She never signed with any entertainment company and many sources claimed she had no support from any bigshots. She did every single task, from writing lyrics to producing the music all by herself under her record label, CHARM records.

Also, she would release her songs abruptly, when people least expected. However, many of her fans expressed their opinion that her latest song 'No Love' was the only slow, sad song she ever released and wondered if she was going through a breakup.

Gu Zichen was very much intrigued by this woman CHARM, he wanted to meet her.

A smile appeared on Gu Zichen's face. If only he could convince her to sign a contract with the entertainment company under Gu corporation, he could make billions without much efforts.

He was so deeply dreaming about all the profits he could enjoy, he totally forgot about his wife.

"Dig up this singer charm's details" Gu Zichen's order rendered Chen Fei speechless.

Chen Fei cried silent tears for his lady boss, Wu Jinyan. Initially it was some child's mother Lin Ya and now a pop singer. His boss was busy digging into other women, while his wife went missing.

'Didn't he learn anything after what happened with Li Xiaoyi?' Chen Fei wondered if his boss was trying to anger the boss lady to death. What if he angered her too much, she ends up asking him for a divorce?
