After we reached inside our house, Kyra looked at me, her eyes soft but determined. "Sit on the sofa, I will treat your wounds," she said, her voice gentle. I could feel her care, the genuine concern she had for me. As she placed her hand on my shoulder and helped me sit down, I couldn't help but glance at her face.

Although sitting next to this wolf male wasn't exactly my idea of comfort, I couldn't deny the relief that washed over me knowing Kyra hadn't ignored me. But it hit me then—how impulsive I'd become, how my emotions had been controlling me rather than the other way around. This wolf, Lucas, was far from stupid. He played the part of a fool well, but now I could see just how deep he truly was. All this time, I thought Vincent was the cunning one, but Lucas… he was on another level.
