Bab 44: Forty-Fourth

He took her by the wrist and yanked her sharply over to himself, dragging her until they stood together right before the entrance to the tower itself.

"Watch and see how powerful a faerie I am~! This will be magnificent, I swear it~!"

"Huh--whuh?" She was still a little dazed from whatever he'd done with his mouth.

Or rather from whatever it had triggered in her body.

There was no doubt he had to have done something intentionally with magic to create that rush of power that ran through her.

But...what was it?

Merwyn glanced at her over his shoulder and grinned confidently.

"Prepare yourself, my treasure! Look closely and see as I unleash my newfound strength on this foolish curse~!"

With those words, his other arm shot forth in a blur of movement towards the wall beside him.

And when it landed, there was a loud snap, followed shortly by a crackling noise.
