Bab 183: A Talk with Miriam

After chatting with Miriam for a few more minutes, Rune heard a knock at the door. It was Fleur, who was still waiting in the hall with Gabi.

"Rune? Is it okay to come in now?"

"Oh, right. Sorry!" He called. "You can come in."

Having received the okay, Fleur and Gabi entered the room. After flicking on the light, they were slightly confused to see that the room was completely empty.

"Master?"

"Where are you?" The two girls called.

"Up here!"

Looking up, the two of them saw a large Arachne woman resting in a web in the upper corner of the room with Rune nestled comfortably in her arms.

"What are you doing up there?" Fleur asked him.

"I was just chatting with Miriam a bit. She was startled after having woken up in a strange place after the bad experience she had, and it seemed like my presence was calming for her." Miriam nodded at his words with a slight smile on her face. "She is more comfortable in a web than a bed."
