Adam had gotten his materials to begin with and also a one-person dorm, which was more comfortable for him. He entered the building and went to the highest floor through an elevator. Come to think of it, the elevator was also nice.
Adam reached the last floor at the top and went straight to a door with a door plate reading '498'. He entered the room using his one-time access card and then, he locked the door.
"Good day Cadet. Please submit biometric data to your room manager for easy access an well being." An artificial intelligence voiced as the door to the room closed. It was an intermediate level artificial intelligence which managed every activities in a dorm room. Most homes in the galaxy also used this type of Artificial intelligence.
The hierachy of artificial intelligence was quite simple. There was the Basic level AI, which were used to perform individual tasks like mining and farming. They didn't possess any extra modification which would make them higher than their standard. The Intermediate level AI composed of many cutting-hedge technological modifications, allowing them to perform miscellanous task for users. They also possessed user interaction functions which made them more efficient. And the last known was the Advance level AI possessed sentience, which allowed them to replicate emotions and behave in an unknown pattern that was believed to cause danger to the galaxy. But limited information existed about it. It was also believed that there was a time where the galaxy was plunged into chaos all because of its existence.
Adam did as the AI instructed before walking into the bedroom to observe some things. Firstly, Adam was not one who loved people observing him through surveilance cameras, so he decided he will disable all of them in his dorm, or use them better. That's when a system notification appeared.
<Notification>
<User is allowed to purchase special equipments to aid his distress. All materials and equipments you desire are here for purchase. Just say 'shop'>
Adam smiled when he saw the notification. This was what he needed at this moment. "I remember I had at least a hundred thousand system points for shopping, but I wasn't able to use it. Shop!"
After thinking for a while, Adam opened the shop window to find what he needed.
<Shop>
<System points: 150000>
<Shop is at tier I>
<PRX78>
<A hand gun which uses plasma cell munitions as its major firepower.>
<cost:15000>
<mobility:12>
<acc:10>
<off:18>
<recoil:5>
<cooling time:4mins after 20rounds>
<Xterenis360>
<Nanotech which gives user the ability to control mechinery with the mind. Also a computer for hackers during this generation. But system modifications aloows user to produce result at minimum input but with maximum output>
<cost:130000>

<An ancient offensive weapon(dagger) which support debuffs and seals major points in live biological beings.>
<cost:250000>
<off:29>

<mob:35>
....
Adam didn't need to look further as he found what he needed. The <Xterenis360> was what he needed to do the trick in his dorm room and places with machines which had distastes for.
<Do you want to purchase>
<Yes><No>
<Yes>
<Xterenis360 has been purchased>
<Do you want to inplant Xterenis360 into you brain tissue>
<Yes> <No>
<Yes>
<User will fall asleep for an hour as process starts>
<00:59:59>
As the timer started counting, Adam fell to the floor unconsiously. He had fallen asleep befor the system showed the effect of the inplant. Naturally, all humans had inplants in their body, but he didn't have one in his body, so it was easier to know him even if he didn't show his identity to anyone. With this, he didn't need to get an inplant again, which means he is not an asset to the human race and could do anything he wanted as a member of any race or civilization he wanted to pose as.
After an hour, Adam woke up to see the system interface in his vision and was stunned a little, but what caught his attention was the new tab on the menu bar. It was weird, but he knew what it was.
<Grid server> was the tab which appeared to be from the nanites inplant he had an hour previous. He entered the Server and saw a lot of user ID swarming it while posting and chatting. He got confused and looked at the buttons until he saw a glowing blue button which read <Hackers mode>.
Adam deactivated it and everything became like nothing existed, void of any item except the hottest posts and news. Adam had to admit that this method of doing things could ensure individual protection, but he could violate this at anytime he felt the need to.
"Hmmph! Looks like my life just got better. I guess I can't be controlled by the higher ups unless they feel the need eliminate me."
Adam left his dorm room with a smile. He just felt like he had solved a future problem in advance, so he didn't need to worry about one more thing. He also didn't forget to deactivate the surveilance cameras before exiting the room.
Adam had left the dorm building without any itch. While he planned to have a walk an find blind spots where he could go without being watched, a dark boy with a perfect buzz cut aproached him. He was about 190cm tall, wgich wasn't up to Adam's height, so he looked shorter. His murky black eyes shown jovially as he walked like he owned the planet.
"Hi bro! Looks like you're new here. You could use some hand if you need help!" Adam didn't say anything as he scrutinize the dark boy. The boy was clad in the same black uniform as him with his name "Caleb Kristoffer" on his nameplate pinned to the right breast of his uniform. On the left was an emblem of two swords crossed with oak leaves around and the lightning bolts on cutting across it. There was also a something beneath ehe emblem with something like a rank "R03" written on it.
"Sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Cadet major Caleb Kristoffer. You could call me CK. I'm a level three reaper class soldier. You should start your two weeks training early if you want to have good priviledges and a good team. This is just an advice though. See you around."
Adam couldn't say anything to CK becausehe was talkative. He just watch the dark guy leave and a smile appeared on his face.
"So I could do extras to get enough credot into a good group. Though I don't really know how the rankings work, I feel that rank with the 'R' suits my taste."
Adam continued to stroll until he reached another building that read "VRDeck" on its signboard. It looked like it was a building meant for playing games.
Adam entered the building with a cold look, but couldn't help but be amazed. He knew what a VR was, but his former condition didn't permit him to play one. But this one was different.
Adam went to a free deck and in the next instant, he saw himself in an empty space. Shockingly, there were photographic images of senarios he could chose from. He decided to play the senario of the great Throlovic battle. This was a completely inexistent battle, but the human race always made senarios for both past, present and unseen battles.
The great Throlovic battle was a battle simulation of war between the humans and orcs, something many people with enough knowledge would not dare to play.
"All soldiers, the Orcs have ruined the peace the galaxy had shared, enjoyed and preserve. Our dear race suffered million of losses from these plague in the universe. They attack every biological life form, kill them and scavenge their resources. Everyday we sleep, we hear the voices of the dead. Today, we fight ones more to the end."
Adam was in a ship, among the soldiers who were lined up for this operation. The soldier were all yelling and shouting as they got their moral boosted. As expected, he was wearing a real combat uniform with no ranking, but black. He couldn't believe he was back to the black uniform.
Soon, the soldiers started to deploy. Starfighter pilots were already sitting on the cockpit of their starfighters. But the black clads were not dismissed.
"Adam Lebron, you're assigned to team Glem of the reaper unit. You are to fight at the frontline, clearing the path for the other soldiers and created a landing spot. Your team is to deploy imediately to handle the under job to aid in our successful invasion. Have I made myself clear?"
The commanding officer ordered Adam to perform a role that was a whole galaxy away fro his expectation. He never thought the job of an elite would be ridiculously insane, if not impossible. This was not the ordinary type of operations he had read about.
"Sir! Yes Sir!" Adam didn't have a choice but to comply with the commanding officer's orders. "Hell, I might get myself killd on my first VR experience. Bad luck, Adam!"
