Bab 72: Mind over matter

Frost Phoenixes were known for their gentle demeanor and friendly disposition, but when provoked, these majestic birds would often retaliate by unleashing devastating elemental attacks.

While a single Frost Phoenix did not pose a significant threat, a large flock of these birds could cause catastrophic blizzards, blocking out the sun for days without end, and freezing everything around them.

Xander knew these flying Ethereals weren't as harmless as they looked, and if allowed to flap their wings unchecked they could wreak havoc on the train, endangering the lives of all the people on board.

Tiva's safety was Xander's greatest concern, so he bounded down the narrow aisle to return to his seat. Windows slammed shut around him as the nervous passengers tried to fend off the unnatural cold.

Already the temperature inside the train had dropped below zero. The foggy glass panes were soon covered by flimsy sheets of ice as frost began to settle in.
