Bab 63: A fallen queen

Out of all the dreams Xander had entered, this one proved to be the most challenging. Witches and walking scarecrows weren't exactly what came to mind when one thought about a Dreamscape, but this dream wasn't an ordinary one. It had been carefully woven by Neriti's enchanting fingers.

Xander tried to access his skill tree again, but his system wasn't responding. All he saw before him were the glowing white letters that commanded him to seek out the deity's heart.

Fortunately, the dead witch had left behind Xander's Chronica. He picked it up and put it back inside his jacket, carefully attaching the platinum fob chain to his inner pocket.

The Chronica's dial glistened in the moonlight, its slender hands reflecting the light in dazzling glimmers. Xander held it before him as he walked past the witch's cottage and headed into the surrounding woods.
