Zeus frowned his eyebrows and stared at Ivory for a moment. "How can you assume that about her?" He inquired.
Ivory smirked at his question and rolled her eyes mysteriously. "Didn't you read our ancient mythology? If these feeble humans are imposed by an overpowering curse, they carry the capabilities to lure beasts towards them. But of course, it's just a trend of mythical beliefs. And as I encountered her strange scent, the thought struck my mind." She continued.
He shifted his gaze immediately towards the way she just left passed by them and sighed a little before speaking, "but if it's so... then why does her scent seems familiar to that of my grandma?"
Ivory stroked the threads of her long hair falling over her face with her index finger and scrunched her eyebrows. Her face appeared as if she was lost in some deep thoughts.
"Then, even thou it's just a slight possibility...if she has some deeply embedded connection with the werewolves! Perhaps that's what is responsible for the strange captivating scent lingering on her body." She commented in an intense tone.
He flinched with her comment in bewilderment and glanced at her. His eyes were beaming in anxiousness as he was gasping wider. For a moment, both of them stayed awfully quiet.
She startled a bit while observing his panicked face and tried to calm him down a little. Somehow, the concern and the anxiety she witnessed in his eyes for Eva was bothering her. "Let's not jump into assumptions, Zeus. We don't need to stick our nose inside her personal affairs." She murmured and tapped his shoulder tenderly.
With a stern face, he shifted his gaze outside the large fenestration of the hallway with a heavy sigh. His voice sounded rugged as he murmured, "Ivory, you are the only one who can help me now."
Her eyes were fixated on him as she was staring at him with her affectionate gape. She gently patted his shoulder and walked a bit closer to him. "Zeus, you know right how hard is to find the magical hematite stone... Still, as you have asked me about it, I will go beyond my limits to provide it to you. But you have to keep your promise and you must stay away from her. I am always worried for you, Zeus." Her voice sounded distressed as she pleaded softly.
Zeus looked at her with a sad smile on his face and slightly nodded his head.
.................
Eva's heart was throbbing hard and her mood was terribly agitated because of Zeus. Firstly due to his sudden hostile behavior which was completely different from their passionate closeness in the elevator. Secondly, watching him walking beside such a graceful and elegant woman was making her heart unknowingly restless.
"Damn, why do I feel so irritated to find such a brute like him with another woman? I am so pissed off with myself ugghhh! Stop overthinking, Eva! Treat him like a stranger." She was mumbling on her own while walking back to her desk through the hallway.
...
"Hello... Little Duckling!"
A sudden impish voice startled her from behind and halted her motion. The voice was quite familiar and as she turned back, it was Czar, ogling at her from head to toe with a cryptic stare.
She tried to hold back her wrath and slightly bowed her head as she already knew he was her superior in this new job. But he was amused to observe her sudden change in behavior and chuckled anomalously.
"Woah! Did you just bow to me?" He inquired while walking closer to her.
She lowered her gaze with a disgruntled expression and nodded her head. "Umm, can I go back to my desk? I am having some piled up works now." She desperately tried to avoid his further annoying gestures.
Czar giggled with a wicked gaze in his eyes and brought his face a bit closer to her. "You are too good at faking your expressions, little duckling. But, I don't like people who try to portray their fake image. So, you can be real with me. Your reactions excite me so much." He uttered while gently trying to stroke her long shimmering hair to tease her furthermore.
Immediately Eva shoved his arm fiercely away from her and scowled at him. "Don't touch me." She roared.
"Haha! That's more likely your reaction that amuses me the most, like a wild little duckling." He continued.
Eva narrowed her eyes while glaring at him as she was too infuriated. "Stop calling me with that lewd name, you annoying jerk!" She ignited a sharp threat.
Czar continued to giggle with her reactions and rolled his eyes mysteriously. "Don't try to fake your gestures, I hate those creatures... That's the sole reason I hate my brother too." He grumbled.
Suddenly Eva flinched with his unexpected revelation and stared at him inquisitively. She didn't expect him to be such upfront before her. She scrunched her eyebrows and asked him bluntly, "you...hate your brother?"
All of a sudden his face was overpowered with darkness and he gazed at her intensely. "Are you curious about me?" He murmured.
Eva jolted with his response and shook her head in declination. "Of course not! Why would I be? This office is full of annoying jerks!" She blurted out aloud.
Czar had a quite tall posture compared to her and he slowly leaned towards her with a wicked grin. "Do you think, it was really red vinegar sauce dripped on his shoes? Do you believe that?" He whispered to her.
