It was difficult for Jen to keep a straight face, for one all eyes were directed at her. And secondly, the pain from her arm was not mellowing down. Karla had utterly made a fool out of her, and her boss Yuri.

"Do you need me to help carry anything for you?." Someone asked, definitely out of fake sincerity. Jen just walked past everyone, her elbows pointed out while she furiously cursed under her breath.

Her mind was so preoccupied with thoughts of Karla, that she didn't see someone in front of her, till she collided with him.

"Insolent..."

"If you ever lay a finger on Karla, you won't live to see another sunrise." A masculine voice whispered into her ears, catching her off guard. Her chest tightened up at the threat, so much so that she forgot to breathe.

"Who do..." Before she could look and identify who it was that threatened her, the person was gone. But she couldn't forget his voice, and the ominous vibe she got from him.
