Cael didn't walk without purpose. What he had could barely be called a semblance of a plan, but it was just enough to feed the kindling of hope in his soul.
He made several steps away from Dante and squinted, looking into the sky. What he saw there… he certainly wasn't imagining it.
'His flight is just as swift as I expected. Maybe even more. And he appeared just at the right time.'
A black dot Cael saw on the horizon was the Void. The dragon approached rapidly, and by Cael's estimate, would arrive in the city in only a few minutes.
Cael approached Ginevra, then put a sound barrier around her head. Just in case, he also made it block sights. It would help if the Starspawn wouldn't be able to say where Cael was, although Cael wasn't sure the Starspawn wasn't able to just sense himself.
So, uh, yeah - the Void promised that he would kill anyone who doesn't grovel, and he doesn't fuck around.
