Bab 65: Claw, tooth and poison, part 3

Cael ran as far from Queen as the Nest allowed, reading a spell at the same time. It wasn't easy to not lose both his breath and the delicate weave of magic. But he had a plan, and this particular spell was only of the second circle and extremely familiar to him.

He didn't stop even when he finished chanting it, only turned and threw his hand towards Queen, who loomed over him like a living tower.

"<Crimson river, your master commands! Flow from the veins of the unworthy, give up their life!>"

Blood spurted out of her wounds, but Queen only grunted. She made a jump towards Cael and lifted her paw, going to strike him and all the blood he gathered.

He dashed away, the pause she took to prepare for the attack giving Cael precious seconds to evade and buy some distance again. The second component of what he needed.
