Bab 24: Reunion and Hagun Academy

Two years have passed since Noah lived with Edelweiss in Edelberg, and today is a day that has been eagerly awaited. With the plane flying across the skies of Estonia towards Japan, the two feel the excitement and anticipation that surrounds their journey. Today marks two years since Noah and Kanata's separation, and also the moment they arrive at Hagun Academy, where the plot of Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry takes place.

Noah remembers the beautiful times with Kanata, his first love. They had promised to support each other. However, now he has Edelweiss, the strongest swordsman in the world, who is also his lover. Noah knows that bringing his two lovers together will not be easy, but he believes that honesty is the key to fixing this complex relationship.

Hagun Academy is one of the seven Mage-Knight academies located in Japan, spanning an area said to be more than ten times that of Tokyo Dome. Unlike many other academies, Hagun has no intuition fees or other kinds of expenses that the students need to pay, making it ideal for poor students.

However, Hagun is also stricter on taking in students, as new students require at least a general level of abilities and capabilities.

Compared to the other six academies, Hagun Academy hasn't produced any strong assets in the past recent years.

Hagun is on a losing streak in the Seven Stars Sword Art Festival, a competition sponsored once a year by the seven schools to select the strongest apprentice Mage-Knight.

The plane landed at Tokyo's Narita Airport, and as they stepped off the plane, Noah saw a very familiar figure. Kanata stood there, wearing a simple white dress with a floppy hat that covered part of her face. The deep longing made Noah unable to resist immediately approaching Kanata. He hugged her tightly, kissing her lips affectionately. The two years apart felt like an eternity, and as they parted, the silver thread of longing was still tied between them.

"I missed you," Noah said in a soft voice.

"I missed you too, Noah," Kanata replied, her face shining with happiness.

In the distance, Edelweiss observed the sweet moment. She understood how important Noah and Kanata's relationship was, and although she was a little anxious, she remained calm. However, when Kanata saw Edelweiss behind Noah, her expression changed. She couldn't help but ask.

"Who is she?" Kanata said, frowning slightly.

"Noah, who is she?" Kanata asked again, her voice full of curiosity and a little jealousy.

"She's Edelweiss. Just like you, she's also my girlfriend," Noah replied, trying to convey the truth firmly.

Edelweiss smiled at Noah's confession to her, this confession was a sign that their relationship could be accepted openly. She hoped that Kanata could understand this situation without feeling hurt.

Kanata was silent for a moment, processing the information she had just heard. "Your girlfriend?" she asked, her voice sounding calmer.

"So, you have two girlfriends?"

Noah nodded. "I don't want to keep our relationship a secret. I want us all to get to know each other and build a good relationship."

Hearing Noah's explanation, Kanata felt a little relieved. She knew that Noah didn't mean to hurt her feelings. Given his status as a prince, opening a harem wasn't unusual. Besides, she was also happy that Noah was honest and open about his feelings.

"Alright, I can accept this. But, I hope we can support each other," Kanata said, giving a sincere smile.

"Kanata, this is Edelweiss, just like you, she's also my lover. And Ais, this is the Kanata I told you about earlier," Noah said introducing them.

Kanata was surprised to hear the name Edelweiss, but she immediately extended her hand. "Can I call you Ais? I'm Kanata, and you can also call me Kanata like Noah."

Edelweiss shook Kanata's hand. "Of course, Kanata," she replied shortly.

"Kanata, Ais does have that kind of personality, don't get me wrong," Noah added, trying to explain further so that there would be no misunderstandings between them.

"No problem, we'll be siblings from now on and prevent this bastard from messing with the flowers outside," Kanata said while glaring at Noah, lightening the mood.

"Alright, come on, I'll take you and introduce you to Hagun Academy," Kanata said, leading the way.

On the way to the academy, they talked about their respective experiences. Kanata talked about life at Hagun Academy, while Edelweiss listened attentively. The moment was like a warm family reunion, even though there was still some tension left.

Upon arriving at Hagun Academy, the majestic sight of the academy greeted them. The towering buildings and the vast grounds gave a different feel. Hagun Academy looked deserted, with only a few students seen wandering around the campus. Kanata began to show them around, introducing the various facilities and important places in the academy.

"This is the training room, where we train our sword and magic skills. And over there is the library, where you can find all the books you need to study," Kanata explained enthusiastically.

Noah and Edelweiss walked beside Kanata, admiring every corner of the academy.

During the tour, Kanata explained the various aspects of academic life at Hagun. She explained about the curriculum, the various clubs, and even the sword arts festival that was held every year.

Kanata and Edelweiss continued to talk about various topics along the way with Kanata doing most of the talking.

Noah was happy to see the interaction between Edelweiss and Kanata. Although there were some awkward moments, the two began to understand each other. Noah hoped that over time, they could build a harmonious relationship in this unusual situation.

After exploring the classroom, Kanata led them to the beautiful garden in the center of the academy, where flowers were blooming and the atmosphere was serene. "This has always been my favorite place to relax after training," Kanata said. "Here, I often reflect and plan my next steps."

Edelweiss, who was usually more reserved, began to share her thoughts on the importance of finding peace amidst the hustle and bustle. "The flowers here look so beautiful. They grow in a simple way, but they are strong and colorful," she said, catching Kanata's attention.

"That's right," Kanata replied, impressed by Edelweiss's thoughts. "Strength isn't always visible on the outside. Sometimes, it comes from the resilience and beauty that lies within us."

Noah felt proud of the closeness that was beginning to form between his two lovers.

Kanata then suggested that they have a training session together in the training room.

"Let's do some sparring! It could be a good way to get to know each other's abilities," she said enthusiastically.

Edelweiss nodded in agreement, and Noah joined in. They headed to the training room while making small talk. Once they arrived at the training room, the atmosphere changed to a more serious one. Kanata took her Blazer weapon and prepared herself, while Edelweiss also prepared her shining sword.

"Ready?" Kanata asked with a challenging smile.

"Ready," Edelweiss replied calmly.

Noah watched the two warriors, feeling both tension and excitement at the same time. He knew that they both had extraordinary abilities, and this fight would not only be a show of their skills, but also a way to respect and understand each other.

The fight began, and in an instant, they moved quickly. Swords clashed with vibrating sounds, creating a harmonious rhythm. Noah was fascinated to see his two lovers fighting with extraordinary skills and techniques. They were testing each other, while still maintaining respect for each other.

After a few minutes had passed, Kanata took a step back. "You're really strong, Edelweiss! I'm impressed!" he said, smiling widely.

Edelweiss returned the smile, "Thank you, Kanata. You're also very good." Of course during the fight, Edelweiss wouldn't use all her power, it was more like Edelweiss was teaching Kanata.

After the training, they sat on the edge of the field, exhausted but happy. Kanata took out water bottles and shared them with Edelweiss and Noah.

The day continued with casual chats and laughter. After walking around, Kanata invited them to meet the dean of the academy, Singuji Kurono.
