Bab 58: Living with Declan

The smile on Fiona's face would forever be etched in her memory. She wore a triumphant smile. Mia wished she could turn and leave the place. But she had no idea where she was or how to get home. They had come in Declan's car. Plus, if she left that way, how would Declan feel?

"You see, Mia, there is no place for you here. This family loves me already, and they want Declan's and my happiness. If you want Declan's happiness, you know what to do."

Just like that, she moved back, putting enough space between them. Mia felt weak. She realized at that moment that she liked Declan as a friend. He had become part of her daily life. How was she supposed to get her revenge on Jack without his help? Her revenge seemed more far-fetched. She remembered Jack's call that morning, and her face paled.

Declan and his mum came back in; they weren't smiling. He moved to Mia and held the small of her back. "Are you okay, Mia?"
