Bab 290: Goodbyes.

As the heavy chamber doors creaked open, Freja, Aragon's grandmother, entered unexpectedly.

She stopped short, a slight flush colouring her normally composed face as her eyes took in the scene. Aragon reacted immediately, a flicker of embarrassment crossing his face as he quickly grabbed for a nearby cloak to cover himself, turning to face her with a look of youthful surprise and discomfort.

The reaction drew a chuckle from both Griselda and Katheryn, who watched with a mix of amusement and intrigue as Aragon, a commanding figure in nearly every situation, suddenly appeared flustered, looking like a child caught sneaking treats before dinner.

Freja's mouth twitched into a tight smile, humour gleaming in her eyes despite the disapproving arch of her brow.

"Aragon," she said calmly, though her tone hinted at the rebuke she was holding back. "When you're dressed, come meet me in the council room."
