For Del, the prospect of getting a cryogenic sleeping pod wasn't really that important. It was more important for him to get out of the facility alive. Still, since he unlocked floor B1, maybe he could help Lize if she really knew where the cryogenic sleeping pods were.
Del typed on his tablet. He searched for the location of the cryogenic sleeping pod inside of the facility. It turned out that the facility was on the same floor as the one they were on right now. In fact, it was really around the corner.
Del opened the door to the cryo facility by swiping his key card on the key card reader. The door opened, revealing a room with a lot of cryo sleeping pods. There weren't any filled pods inside of that room so Del wouldn't be able to find out who the owner of the ancient site was.
Inside of that room, weirdly enough, there was a stack of clean and dry towels alongside several undergarments inside of a glass wardrobe. There was another room inside of that room which was called the cleanroom.
"Well, I think you have found your treasure, Lize," Del sighed.
"What's with that sigh?" Lize asked.
"If I don't bring you back to the guild, I won't even get a single coin even though I have fought many bounty hunters that are coming after you outside of this facility," Del explained.
"Money? Well, I have a lot, but let's figure out how to use this thing," Lize said.
"Well, that's not really an issue," Del said as he showed his tablet.
Del searched for the procedure for using the cryogenic sleeping pod. Of course, he found it inside of the database. There was an instruction on how to use the cryo pod step by step. The cryo pod itself had its own name.
[CSP-110 Instruction Manual]
1. Sterilize the Cryo Pod
2. Make sure the user is clean
3. Only undergarment is allowed on Cryo Pod
4. User can enter the Cryo Pod
5. Cryo Pod can be closed from the inside or outside
"Hmm, what does that thing mean?" Cole asked.
"Well, Lize, have you taken a bath or something?" Del asked.
"Bath? Where do you think I can wash myself inside of this mountain?" Lize referred to her journey just for the sake of searching that facility.
"Dunno, well, I think you can clean yourself in that clean room, I also think that you should replace your undies with the one on the glass wardrobe. Anyway, only undergarment is allowed " Del said.
"Why do you ask me to do that?"
"Because that's what the instruction told me to," Del replied.
"Ok, ok, can both of you get out of this room first?" Lize asked.
"Sure," Del said.
Cole and Del walked out of the room to let Lize have her privacy. Del grabbed a pill from his rig. It was Ibuprofen and he ate one of them to reduce the pain from the wound on his head. He sat down in the hallway while looking at the tablet.
He opened the map application on the map. He wondered how far he was to Ferris, the Elbanian capital, or where her sister was staying. The distance was 410 miles away from the capital. It looked like Del wouldn't be visiting the place sooner or later. He noticed some places like Alder, Midham, and Begard on the map.
Del didn't notice anything besides that. However, he noticed that the area of the road between Midham and Begard was inside of the range of the weaponry of the facility itself. It could be useful, but Del had no idea how to use that weaponry.
Del entered the cryogenic room again and Lize was in the new underwear that she picked up on the glass cabinet. Just before she wanted to wear her own clothing, Del stopped her. "Lize, the instruction clearly told me that you must be in your underwear."
"Say what?" Lize didn't believe that.
"Yes, it's true, anyway, Lize, you can enter one of the pods," Del said.
Del looked at one of the pods. It was available to use. Del pressed a button that clearly said "Open". The cryo pod opened and Del told Lize to get inside of it. Lize was shuddering, maybe because she was fearing that thing-a-magic.
"Del, if this thing kills me, I apologize for anything that I've done. Anyway, there is my money on my clothing, I think you can take it," Lize said as she got into the cryo pod.
Del closed the cryopod and the pod started its process of decontaminating the pod itself. Del peeked from the little glass window of the cryo pod. It looked like Lize had been sedated. It made him wonder how the cryo pod worked. He opened his tablet and searched for more information about it.
[CSP-110]
CSP-110 works by first sedating the user inside by pumping a muscle relaxant into the chamber of the cryo pod itself. After that, a self-guiding ventilator mask would attach itself to the user's nose. The onboard computer would guide a catheter into the user's bladder and pump out all of the urine inside of it.
After that, a procedure of replacing the user's blood with bio machinery liquid will start. After the procedure is done, the cryo function will engage. A brain monitor will be attached to the user's head and the user will have full access to the cryogenic pod.
[End of Information]
"Damn, this is some serious futuristic machinery," Del complimented.
"What do you mean?" Cole asked.
Del peeked again into the cryogenic pod, "I meant, look at how many catheters are connected to her body."
There was a ventilator mask on Lize's face. A catheter was attached to something below her underwear. A bigger pipe was attached to her hands' artery and it sucked the blood out of her body and replacing it with a brighter red liquid that was definitely wasn't blood. There was some kind of device attached to her head. All of it was done automatically by the cryo pod itself.
"Damn, those are so many pipes," Cole said.
"Yeah, anyway, let's see our spoils of war," Del looked at Lize's clothing that was on the side of the cryo pod. Del searched that clothing for money and he found a pouch filled with money, a lot of money, heck, shitton of money.
Cole also wanted to know the amount of money inside, he peeked into the pouch, "Holy shit, that's a lot of money."
Inside of that pouch was more than ten white gold coins. Del didn't need to count it, there was indeed a lot of money inside of it. Although his journey of rescuing the adventurer ended up in failure, he still managed to secure himself a healthy amount of cash.
"Let's return to the camp, shall we?"
=================================
"You boys…" Cassandra was putting one of her hands on top of Del's head while he put the other on top of Cole's chest. "What did you two encounter? More bounty hunters, or something far more dangerous." She wondered because she was aware that Cole and Del could actually hold themselves against a lot of bounty hunters.
"I don't know how to explain it," Del said, and then he continued, "Maybe I can say it as an ancient site."
"Ancient site? Are you fucking serious? And you two live to tell the tale about it???" Cassandra glared at him in disbelief. She then took a deep breath, "Alright, calm down, all that matters are that you two survive."
"Truth to be told, I really want an alcohol right now, hahaha," Del laughed.
"You're too young for alcohol, don't you know that?" Cassandra commented as an health expert.
"Does that rule exist in here?" Del replied.
"I meant, your poor liver will be suffering from it, don't you think?" Cassandra said.
"I know that."
"Anyway, I want to ask you something, were you aware about the kind of danger that you and Cole just encountered?" Cassandra asked.
"No, we didn't."
"Allow me to explain then, ancient site is a place that is build by ancient demons around thousands of years ago. The reason of their disappearance was still undiscovered until now. Ilbistirum managed to take over some of the ancient sites, but it really cost us our manpower," Cassandra explained.
"How much?" Del asked.
"Like, three thousands demons per site, I think?" Cassandra commented. "That's the amount of personnel that dies when Ilbistirum decides to take over an ancient site. Ilbistirum usually sends one division of demon army to capture an ancient site. A division is about 25 thousands personnel that includes logistic, support, and combat unit," Cassandra said.
"I see, still, that's not really my business as of now, anyway, since we have gotten our money, why don't we go home?" Del asked.
"Sure, I think we can pack things up tomorrow, what do you say?"
"Let's go then."
