It was around 1 PM, and as usual, I was sitting at the back of the school, sketching the landscape of the forest.
Initially, there used to be a lot of mosquitoes around here, but after Luxion had provided a spray solution for the area, all of them are gone as you can see.
Well, I had to spray the entire area once a week, but I believed that is a little loss for me.
This made me wonder if it would be the same during the rainy season, would the solution needed to spray every day instead of every week.
Though that musing felt pointless since I most likely wouldn't sit on damp ground anyway.
I was also 'very' concerned whether this would disturb the local wildlife, but it appeared there was no problem.
Still, I half-expected to see a three-eyed bird at any moment. Beside that...
"I wonder if she is okay."
Not that I was worried; I was more concerned about whether that commoner could hold a proper conversation.
Recalling the original novel, I remembered there were unwritten rules among the girls that I hoped she would clear up, and so I send her to the highest ranking women of her year.
If the novel was anything to go by, Angelica would be quite hospitable to the commoner.
After all, Olivia and Ann were both very kind and compassionate, as far as I knew.
I chuckled slightly, but then my fingers stilled, the corners of my lips falling.
"No, Olivia went to meet Angelica?... not Ann."
I squeezed my temples. Who was Ann again?
The girl... that... who was she?
I rested my thumb on my forehead, feeling as if I were forgetting something very important.
I sensed I could recall it if I just concentrated a little harder, but I could honestly not.
Am I having early dementia perhaps? I wonder if using thelesma have a side affects like that in this world.
"Sigh... Must be the terrible side effect of having different memories in my head, I suppose."
Maybe I was mixing her up with a character from an anime I watched in my previous life.
"Hmm, Baron, why are you talking to yourself?" A pompous voice interrupted me as I was contemplating as such.
The voice was accompanied by an arrogant chuckle that left me unsure if it was genuine.
I lifted my head slightly to look back and there she was—the prideful lady I secretly wished to collar and leash around the campus.
Her school uniform hugged her voluptuous figure tightly, making it hard to look away for any male student.
Her curves were rather loud, captivating anyone who dared to glance.
Her thighs led down to pantyhose-covered legs that seemed to have a rhythm of their own.
I admired how she made something as standard as a school uniform appear uniquely hers.
In fact, there was a natural grace in her walk, an arrogant confidence that was both alluring and commanding.
Her laughter, though pompous, had a way of lighting up her surroundings too.
"Hmm...? Do I owe you some pleasure?" I replied, uninterested.
"Oh my, oh my! You are quite rude to a lady, Mr. Knight. Was the rumor I heard perhaps untrue?"
"Yes, you should trust all those rumors, even the one that told I'm a barbarian. If you wish, you can add some. I enjoy a lore-heavy story, after all."
I brushed her off and continued my sketching.
The grass made an elegant sound as she approached, and I wondered if she was doing it intentionally.
It reminded me of those ASMR videos from my previous life.
I closed my eyes because the noise was very relaxing, my hand still moving across the page.
The noise stopped beside me, and I opened my eyes to find her still smiling cheekily.
Unlike the first time I met her at the gate, where she stood up for that student with his groggy dog, her hair was now styled in twin tails, holding her hands behind her back.
"You're very brave, aren't you, Baron?"
"How so?"
"The way you speak." She adjusted her skirt, the fabric falling neatly as she settled down to my level.
With her chin resting on her hands, propped on her knee, she held a fan in her hand, its delicate frame adding charm to her playful demeanor.
Her smile was cheeky and playful, as if sharing a delightful secret just between us.
"Most of the people I've met speak to me with more respect, you know?"
It was hard not to be captivated by the way she looked at me, her eyes sparkling with interest.
"That's very unfortunate."
"Hmm?"
"Unfortunate because..." I continued drafting casually, not giving her my full attention.
"It sounds like you wanted me to be like that?"
"No, it seems like you misunderstood."
"Hmm?"
"The way you speak, I like it." Her face was becoming flush, and I seem to catch a sweet fragrance wafting as she talked in a way, the victim shall wish more, squinting her eyes in a seductive manner.
"I like strong-willed people on their knees..."
Hmm?... What the hell did she just say?
I looked at her in surprise as she repeated, "I like strong-willed people on their knees."
No, I had heard it right the first time. It was absurd—very absurd—but also funny, because...
I chuckled and laughed heartily. "We are very similar, m'lady."
She didn't respond but instead looked at the sketchbook in my hand. "Ooh, that is actually very nice."
"Mm... Thank you, my la—"
"Do you think you can draft me?"
"...I can; I don't 'think.'"
"Ooh, thank you, that would b—"
"I will not sketch your image, however."
She seemed slightly offended, squinting her eyes even more while still maintaining her smile.
"Is that so?"
She was very fun to annoy; after all, she was the person I had marked to become my house dog.
"Well, that was a joke, of course, my lady. It would be a pleasure of mine."
She still maintained that thin, artificial smile. "Why yes, indeed, that would be a pleasure of yours."
Hmm, she seemed a bit petty; I should train her thoroughly as well, after all a pet that's too jealous would disturb the masted, no?
Exaggeratedly, she stood up, groomed herself and her uniform, turning her back on me.
"This conversation was very enjoyable, Baron. I will consider coming back here."
"Oh yes, I will welcome you anytime, my lady."
"Hmph. Of course, goodbye for now, Baron." Unlike when she arrived, this time she walked briskly and left the area with lesser dignity as if she wanted to escape for some reason.
Not long after, Olivia returned to me, reporting what had happened with Ann... Angelica.
Well, I believed there should be a tea party even before the dungeon diving, no?
Fortunately, I didn't need to plan that nonsense.
On a second note, ever since I saved these girls from those pirates, my popularity seemed to be skyrocketing, so, maybe I did?
Author's Note: Sorry guys, I read Anoseka(Marie's route) and read the lore behind the kingdom.
Because of that, I was too heartbroken to write last week, forgive me. That said, I'm back, give me power stones and also a review to motivate me.
