Being weak from how much of my energy my Fate had used up in going against its nature and digging out a memory of my last prey, I had wanted this escape to be a silent slick away.

I had planned to return the human to her realm and face my mission squarely after that.

But no.

Things just had to go against my plan, didn't they?

Fuck this!

I could hear wrath warriors moving swiftly across the camp, they would be here in seconds.

If they were all here, in my weakened state, it will be far too easy to take me down.

Fuck this bullshit.

The curse rang through my mind as I decided to do that thing I had been avoiding since I had gotten here.

Using my incubus abilities wasn't something I particularly enjoyed or liked, but fighting against the wraths right now would be death on me.

So my ego had to take a stabbing and I succumb to the only option I had.

My essence burst through me, surrounding the tent and spreading further enough to ensure protection.
