The battle was over.
All Might lay in surgery, his body gravely damaged. As for the villain… Wanderer had searched, but there was no body to be found. The monster was still out there. But the others—fools that they were—thought he was dead.
Wanderer strode through the sterile hospital hallway, his every step echoing in the silence. He had one goal: answers. When he reached All Might's room, he saw Gran Torino and Sir Nighteye standing guard outside the door.
"I want answers," Wanderer demanded, his voice sharp as he closed the distance between them.
Both men turned toward him, but it was Gran Torino who spoke first, his tone weary. "It's complicated."
"And classified," Nighteye added, adjusting his glasses with a calculated precision.
Wanderer's eyes narrowed, a simmering threat behind them. "I don't care. I'm owed an explanation."
The hallway fell into a tense silence, only the distant beeping of medical equipment breaking it. After a moment, Gran Torino exhaled heavily. "Fine. The villain's name is All For One."
"Gran Torino!" Nighteye hissed, his glare sharp. "That's classified!"
"He deserves to know," Gran Torino said, his voice gravelly and unyielding. "He fought that monster himself." The old hero turned back to Wanderer. "All For One has a quirk that lets him steal and bestow other quirks. He's been around since the first generation of quirk users—a living boogeyman."
Wanderer scoffed, his mind piecing together fragments of what he'd already deduced. "I figured as much from the fight."
"And All Might's connection?" Wanderer pressed.
"That's classified," Nighteye answered coldly, his rigidity only deepening Wanderer's contempt.
'Upright moron.'
Just then, the door behind them slammed open. All Might, swathed in bandages and barely able to stand, stumbled out into the hallway. His presence, though diminished, still burn fiercely.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Gran Torino barked, rushing to support him.
"I… have to go," All Might wheezed, his body trembling under the weight of his injuries.
"You need rest!" Nighteye stepped forward, his voice strained with concern.
"I don't have time for rest!" All Might's voice cracked as he tried to push forward. "I'm the Symbol of Peace!"
Wanderer stood back, watching in silence as Nighteye and Gran Torino struggled to pull All Might back into the room.
"If you keep this up, you won't last!" Nighteye's desperation bled through his words.
All Might froze, his eyes darkening. "You… you saw it, didn't you?" His voice lowered. "I told you not to."
"I had to!" Nighteye's fists clenched, trembling with frustration. "I saw your future, All Might. I saw you die. I won't stand by and watch you destroy yourself!"
"I CAN'T WATCH PEOPLE SUFFER!" All Might roared back, his voice filled with a raw, painful determination.
Wanderer's eyes flashed with cold indifference. "You're a fool."
The words cut through the chaos like a blade. All Might, Nighteye, and Gran Torino all turned toward him, stunned.
"What did you say?" All Might growled, his fury barely contained.
"You're a fool," Wanderer repeated, folding his arms. "This 'Symbol of Peace' you cling to so desperately—it's fragile. You will die. What happens then?"
"I won't let that happen!" All Might's defiance burned in his eyes, but Wanderer was unimpressed.
"And how do you plan to stop aging?" Wanderer's voice was cold, each word a hammer to All Might's resolve. "You're human. Your body will give out. If you push yourself like this, all anyone will see is a broken man. The symbol you've built will crumble with you."
All Might opened his mouth to retort but fell silent. He knew Wanderer was right. The weight of mortality pressed against him—an undeniable truth he could no longer ignore.
"You need to choose a successor," Nighteye urged, his voice softer now, pleading. "You can't keep carrying this burden alone."
"I… I'm not ready for that," All Might growled, his resistance still strong.
"You don't have the luxury to wait!" Gran Torino snapped. "If you don't act now, it's all going to fall apart!"
Nighteye stepped forward, "I can start searching for someone worthy of inheriting your quirk."
Wanderer's eyes rolled in disdain. "What are you talking about?"
All Might turned toward Wanderer, meeting his gaze. There was a heaviness there, a resignation. "Can you keep a secret?"
Wanderer raised an eyebrow. "I can."
Nighteye looked horrified. "All Might, you can't seriously—"
"He deserves to know," All Might said firmly. "He was there when I needed him." With a heavy sigh, he began to explain. His quirk, the history behind it, how it had been passed down through generations, each successor growing stronger.
Wanderer listened, his expression unreadable, but the concept intrigued him. A power passed through inheritance, gaining strength with each generation… it was unlike anything he'd ever encountered.
"And now you're looking for someone to inherit it," Wanderer said, his voice quieter now, contemplative.
"Yes," All Might replied, but Nighteye cut in.
"We need to find someone soon. Before—"
"I wasn't talking to you," Wanderer interrupted, his gaze locking with Nighteye's, sharp as a blade. "It's All Might's decision, not yours."
"What if he dies tomorrow?!" Nighteye shot back, voice rising in frustration. "We don't have time to waste!"
Wanderer scoffed, his expression turning cold. "You're afraid of losing him. Pathetic. This is what happens when you shine a light too bright in someone's eyes—they go blind."
Nighteye's jaw tightened, anger simmering beneath the surface.
"Find whoever you think is worthy," Wanderer said, turning to All Might. "But rest. Let others carry the burden for once. If you keep pushing yourself like this, you'll only become a liability."
All Might watched as Wanderer turned and began to walk away, his words lingering in the air.
"Hey!" Gran Torino called after him. "How did you manage to keep your quirk when All For One tried to steal it?"
Wanderer paused, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "That's a secret." Without another word, he continued down the hallway, disappearing from sight.
===========================
It's been a month since the battle with All for One.
Wanderer had Aiba looking through the dark web for any information on All For One.
Wanderer was flying over a Tokyo,
Since All Might was still…
Wanderer narrowed his eyes when the saw the number hero dispatching a villain.
Wanderer immediately shot down as landed with a scowl.
All Might froze and looked at Wanderer.
It was almost funny, the number one hero looking at the number two hero in fear.
"Wanderer! What are you doing here?" All Might greeted, but the scowl on the Puppet's face made it obvious he wasn't happy.
"You are supposed to be resting." Wanderer crossed his arms.
"I was… but then I wanted something to eat so I went out- Ow!"
Wanderer floated up and slapped the man over the head.
"Go back, before I call Gran Torino." Wanderer threatened.
All Might recoiled. "You wouldn't!"
"Try me." Wanderer narrowed his eyes.
It was true, the two exchanged numbers, mostly because he had questions about All Might's predecessor.
"... Fine." The hero sighed and walked away.
The crowd looked shocked.
The symbol of peace was afraid of the number two… and considering the size difference, it was shocking.
===========================
Izuku Midoriya was running down the streets.
The 9 year old was hoping to catch the nearby villain fight.
Why this one in particular?
Because Wanderer was fighting 5 villains with his sidekick!
Izuku idolised the wind hero, he was still a huge All Might fan but Wanderer left a mark and was so cool!
He stopped when he reached a large crowd, in the distance, Wanderer was chasing a winged villain through the sky.
"So cool!" Izuku beamed as he took his notebook out and took notes.
Wanderer soared through the sky, in hot pursuit of the winged villain darting between the clouds. His eyes narrowed, focusing on his target. With a flick of his hand, razor-sharp wind blades tore through the air, slicing into the villain's left wing. A scream of pain escaped the villain's lips as he spiraled downward, wings flailing uselessly.
But before the villain could crash to the earth, Wanderer swooped in, seizing him by the collar. He veered sharply, easing their descent before dropping the villain roughly onto the ground below.
Nearby, Burnin faced off against two villains—one with a bone-manipulating quirk, forming jagged, skeletal weapons in his hands, while the other boasted raw strength enhancement, his fists denting the ground with every punch. The bone villain lunged at her, thrusting a spear-like bone. Burnin leaped back just in time, narrowly avoiding impalement.
"Burnin! FLAMES!" Wanderer barked from above.
A smirk crossed Burnin's face. She tore two flaming fistfuls of hair from her head, flinging them skyward. The fiery strands ignited, and Wanderer flew straight through them, merging his wind with her flames. A ring of fire now circled him, his silhouette blazing like a fiery tempest.
The villains' faces drained of color as Wanderer turned toward them, the flames dancing in his wake.
"Amazing!" Izuku muttered, furiously scribbling notes from a distance. "He can blend elemental attacks with his wind! Could he do the same with water?"
With a sudden burst of speed, Wanderer shot forward, faster than the eye could track. His palms collided with the faces of both villains, slamming them into the ground. The force of the impact sent shockwaves rippling outward, leaving the villains covered in burns and lacerations.
Burnin grinned, wiping soot from her face. "Nice one, boss!"
"Don't get comfortable," Wanderer warned, eyes scanning the area. "There's one more."
Before they could react, a nearby building exploded outward. A monstrous figure, as large as a cement truck and with the brutish appearance of an ogre, stomped out from the debris. With a roar, the giant villain swung a massive fist toward Burnin. She barely managed to dodge, leaping out of the way at the last second.
"Get back!" Wanderer ordered, his tone sharp.
Confused, but trusting him, Burnin sprang away, watching as the giant turned its focus to Wanderer. The villain roared again, swiping at him with enormous arms. But Wanderer easily dodged, flying gracefully over the giant's head.
'Some of her fire still clings to him... his mistake,' Wanderer thought, noticing the lingering embers on the villain's skin. He gathered his anemo energy, condensing it into a tight, swirling ball.
Izuku's eyes widened in awe. "A new technique?!" His pen couldn't move fast enough as he continued taking notes.
"Wretched vermin," Wanderer muttered coldly as he released the condensed orb. He stomped down on it, igniting a miniature vortex. The winds whipped the flames on the villain's body into a blazing inferno, the firestorm consuming him within seconds. The villain let out a final, pained howl before collapsing to the ground, unconscious and charred.
Wanderer descended calmly, brushing burning debris off his shoulder.
"BOSS WHEN COULD YOU DO THAT?!" Burnin asked with a look of awe in her face.
"I could always do it, just never needed to." Wanderer answered as he heard the crowd cheer.
"A miniature vortex! His quirk is so powerful!" Izuku wrote down more notes, he was so happy he came here today!
===========================
Wanderer stared at his computer screen, brow furrowed in confusion. He scrolled through the comments on a video of his latest fight, his expression growing more puzzled by the second.
Faruzan entered the room, a stack of papers in her hands. Noticing his look, she paused. "Something wrong?"
Wanderer looked up, his confusion deepening. "Faruzan… why do people want me to step on them?"
Faruzan froze mid-step, her mind scrambling for an explanation. She leaned over to glance at the screen, instantly recognizing the bizarre comments.
"Oh… right…" she muttered, realizing Wanderer had stumbled upon a particularly strange corner of the internet. "Umm, well… some people are just... weird in the head," she offered, awkwardly trying to explain.
Wanderer raised an eyebrow, unconvinced, and continued reading. "…Why are they calling me 'daddy'? I'm not a father."
Faruzan's eyes widened in horror. "OKAY! That's enough social media for you!" She practically lunged at the computer, closing the window before things got any weirder.
