The Imperial main force of 200,000 troops, equipped with miniaturized Transition Gates, was entirely within his expectations.

Before the battle began, he thought that even if the Empire activated the Transition Gate and sent in more mechas, he would have enough time to break part of the Empire's anti-missile weapon systems.

Because 200,000 soldiers on a marching route would inevitably leave a large length, the Transition Gate could not possibly appear at his chosen attack location. Before the Empire mechas that came out of the Transition Gate could arrive in support, he would have sufficient time to destroy it and then retreat.
