Having captured a Marquis of the Empire had little to do with most of them, it was merely a topic of conversation. When it involved classified intelligence, a certain level of authority was necessary to participate and be privy to it.
Ji Xinghe, who had just been promoted to captain, didn't inherently possess such authority. However, his combat capabilities and his relationship with this particular Marquis of the Empire granted him permission to partake in the interrogation.
"The collective funeral will be in eleven hours, by sunrise. Even though they won't be able to see it through the dust storm, they should be able to sense it, shouldn't they?"
Jackson stood next to Ji Xinghe, whispering quietly with no trace of grief on his face.
It was the same with those around them. Everyone had grown accustomed to the sacrifice of their comrades; they no longer wore their pain on their faces.
"Yes, I will be attending."
