Bab 2: A new beginning

A confused soul found himself standing before an old storefront with architecture that looked like it had come from feudal Japan, with what appeared to be a recently renovated road behind him, which seemed to vanish into darkness after a certain distance. A giant sign above the shop door read 'Reincarnating Incorporated Shoppe; KARMA ACCEPTED!' with the last part added with red paint seemingly recently.

Feeling as though he had nowhere else to go, the soul approached the door and pushed it open before stepping inside. Inside, behind a counter, he found a gorgeous woman with long black hair, a very light complexion, and a figure that made him feel as though there was a lump in his throat and caused him to gawk a bit.

"Welcome to Reincarnating Incorporated Shoppe, responsible for maintaining the workflow of the celestial hegemony's lifestream reincarnation system. I am Ame-no Uzume and you sir are dead."

The soul seemed confused, until the woman, whom he assumed was a goddess, pointed at him and suddenly all of his forgotten memories played back for him, and in a few seconds he was made to live through his whole life all over again, and then he remembered it all.

After being shown the things from his past, the soul, who now knew he was named named Derrick, could only sigh. He had felt as though he'd been in this void so long that he hadn't even been able to remember any of this even now! If the beautiful goddess before him hadn't shown him, then he never would have known

As he came out of his stupor from reliving his entire life again, Derrick found the goddess holding an eye-piece and examining him "You have quite a lot of karma. Even if the people of your previous world don't know it, you have done them a great service.

"From the memories I just received, I should have a lot of bad karma." the soul of Derrick insisted "That two year old boy..."

"Yes, you killed a lot of people." The beautiful goddess acknowledged "but all of the people you killed would have had a terrible effect on the world had they remained alive, so the positive karma gained from the lives you saved by killing them more then makes up for the negative karma gained by taking their lives. The only deaths that were a net penalty to your Karma total was the middle-aged couple that was caught up in your vengeance" The voice in Derrick's mind explained.

"What about the two-year old boy from my bullet ricochet?" Derrick asked again, still thinking she'd overlooked it somehow "Isn't that unforgivable?"

The goddess chuckled "Oh, that boy would have grown up to be a politician. Early in his career, he would have seemed alright, but after eventually becoming President of the United States he would have instigated World War Three all just to leave a mark on history, and the war would have claimed over two-billion lives." the goddess explained to Derrick "Following the war, after he left office, he would have created his own religious cult, and eventually seized back the government, and sought to conquer the world. He would failed in the end, and would have eventually been overthrown by foreign governments, resulting in your country being, for the most part, conquered by China. The only remaining territory the 'United States' would have had thereafter would have lest would be what you know of as the State of Alaska."

Derrick mentally shuddered when he heard what that boy would have caused.

"As you can imagine, killing that boy mistakenly was the biggest net gain for you. As a result I can offer you two wishes, along with reincarnating you to the world of Naruto." the woman explained to him. "If not for all your negative Karma, you would have qualified for four wishes instead of two, but negative Karma can be quite harsh. Hopefully you'll try to live well in the Naruto world, though

His memory, somewhat restored by the goddess showing him his past, was brought back to Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and then to the earlier games in the Xeno Series "For my first wish, I want a Zohar like from Xenoblade Chrocles 2, Xenosaga, and Xenogears secretly sealed within my body from birth, with no one being able to sense it but me being able to fully command it's power."

"That is indeed a mighty wish" the goddess answered "A dangerous one, though. If you use more power then your body can handle then you might destroy yourself."

"Luckily I have a second wish, then" Derrick insisted "For my second wish I want a system that can, among other things, help me regulate the Zohar's power so I never use an amount of it that my body can't handle and that can help my body to become accustomed to greater and greater amounts of the Zohar's power. Oh, and for the system, lets base it off of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Genshin Impact, which I'd played a little bit in my previous world." now that his memory was coming back to some degree, he recalled that Genshin Impact was the next game he had been playing after completing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the short time before his life went to hell.

The goddess nodded and smiled "That wish is very wise" she asserted "Very well, your system is approved, which means you need to select an element from one of these two series'' to represent your new body in it's base state."

"DENDRO!" he blurted without hesitation, hopeful that it might aid him in potentially learning wood release jutsu, recalling how overpowered wood release was in the series.

"Your system is ready. Think the word Status." the goddess instructed him.

Derrick nodded and thought 'Status' as instructed, and information appeared before him in a box in the air "Will others be able to see this in the Naruto world?"

"Only reincarnators from another world, like yourself, and deities like myself." The goddess answered simply "One other has been sent there to Konahagakure just before you, but you wont have to worry about reincarnators apart from him. The next reincarnator that goes there I'll send to a parallel version of that world. You have the ability to choose where you'll be born thanks to wishing for a system, so you know that prior to making your choice."

Derrick nodded and finally properly examined his current stats.

After briefly looking over them, Derrick mentally selected Konahagakure as the place where he would be born, then looked at the 'Blades' drop down menu and smiled when he found Pyra on the list and mentally selected her, which caused him to sense that he had gained the fire Chakra affinity.

He was quite curious to check out the 'Form Manifestation' section next, and when he found what it did he was pleasantly surprised.

This feature let him transform into someone else and to gain their abilities while in their form. He also found that based on who he chose, he would get their ether affinity on his true body as well.

Without hesitation he mentally selected Malos, or rather he had tried too, only to find that the system wouldn't let him select more then one of the Aegis's. He thought that was unfortunate and sighed before looking through the list and settling for Venti, thus giving him Anemo Affinity as well.

He made a mental note that acquiring blades could give him chakra affinities while acquiring new form manifestations could give him new Ether affinities.

"Well, good luck on your adventure young man" the goddess said before everything faded to black for him.
