"No! I never aimed to cause you harm, Charles. I apologize; it was unintentional, my brother."
Regret filled Eric's voice, and he wore it on his face.
"Brother? We... ain't brothers!"
Charles dismissed Eric's attempt at comfort with a wave of his hand, fixing a cold stare upon him.
"Uh..."
Eric's expression froze, and he released Charles, exhaling a long breath.
Alex, standing beside Charles, lent his support and warned, "Don't make any sudden moves, or your insides might find their way out."
Charles, with a perplexed expression, thought, "Can't you hold your tongue for a moment?" The anger from earlier had dissipated.
Observing Charles' speechless reaction, Alex couldn't help but smile. In the original timeline, Charles suffered a gunshot wound to the lumbar spine, rendering him paralyzed from the waist down—an unfortunate turn of events that impacted not just his mobility but also his dignity, with involuntary loss of bodily functions.
How could someone as esteemed as Professor X be burdened with such a predicament? It seemed incongruous. Luckily, at this critical juncture, history took a different turn.
"Alright, I'm making my exit!"
Eric cast a glance at the assembly, a tinge of sorrow on his face, and declared, "Humans are launching attacks, and there'll be more to come. I'm fighting for Mutant kind, for their future! To shield us from human aggression is my mission!"
Gazing around, Eric looked expectantly at the crowd and posed the question, "Is anyone... with me? Will anyone join me in the fight to safeguard us from human threats?"
"Are we reaching a crossroads here?"
Eric's words weighed heavily on the hearts of those present.
Could it be that comrades who fought shoulder to shoulder and brothers who stood by each other were now on the verge of parting ways?
"Human attacks on our people are inevitable."
"We stand united to protect our people!"
These words resonated deeply with many, the prior barrage of cannonballs serving as a testament to humanity's stance against them.
"Count me in!"
The Azazel rose and walked towards Eric.
"I'm with you!"
Riptide stood up and approached Eric.
"And I!"
The dragonfly flitted through the air, its iridescent wings catching the sunlight as it gracefully landed by Eric's side. The hot desert wind swept across the scene, making the encounter even more dramatic.
"I'm not sure who's right in this conflict! But... I'm tired of the discrimination," she declared.
Darwin hesitated briefly before rising and striding towards Eric. "I reckon protecting' Ussss is more crucial than safeguarding' humans. We're the underdogs here."
Sonic also joined Eric's side.
Looking at his comrades, Eric turned to Alex. "What about you, Alex? Will you come with me?"
Alex shook his head, his voice calm but firm. "Eric, I prefer a stable life, but remember, whether it's Charles or you, we're Mutant brothers. My manor's always open to you and the kids. We're in this together."
Eric smiled and nodded, appreciating Alex's loyalty. While remaining neutral, Alex pledged to assist others in need.
"Alright then...!"
With hands joined, the group created a powerful spectacle. The red devil initiated a teleportation, and they vanished.
"Alex, are you still keeping that neutral stance?" Charles asked Alex, who seemed unfazed.
"I did say that, didn't I? Protecting the rear logistics is my game. The rest is up to you," Alex replied.
Charles, his eyes determined, retorted, "Well, it might seem a bit evasive or like a retreat, but a peaceful life is valuable to many of us. Not everyone wants to be in the thick of a fight."
"Maybe your way of thinking' has its merits. The future's a mystery," Charles conceded, smiling.
With a wave to Alex, Charles led them onto a plane. "I'll be at your manor often, Alex. Keep a good bottle of wine for me!"
"Absolutely! You're always welcome," Alex replied, extending his hand. With a magnetic force, he lifted the plane into the sky.
"Now, how in tarnation do we get back?" Emma, one of them, asked as they stood on the deserted island.
Alex chuckled and said, "I have a daring idea."
The three women immediately protested, but Alex, with a mischievous grin, gathered them in his arms. Activating the red devil's teleport, they were whisked back to the New York manor.

Assuming the role of a consultant at S.H.I.E.L.D., Alex harnessed his psychic powers to bring Raven into the fold of their training program. To everyone's amazement, Raven not only joined but excelled in the training sessions, earning admiration from none other than Peggy herself.
While Alex continued his consultancy at S.H.I.E.L.D., he remained an active force at Stark Industries, holding a substantial 30% of the shares, with Howard claiming the majority at 55%. Alex's unique blend of a sharp mind and insights into future technologies, combined with memories from past lives, became the driving force behind the company's success. Under his guidance, Stark Industries pioneered advancements such as tablet computers and touch-screen phones, pushing the boundaries of technology ahead of its time.
As four years swiftly passed, landing them in 1969, Alex utilized Dr. Erkins' super soldier serum residue to reverse and optimize the serum. Both Howard and his partner eagerly embraced the enhanced abilities and extended lifespans that came with it.
In Long Island, New York, on the day Tony Stark was supposed to be born, Howard anxiously paced around, unable to contain his excitement. Alex, with his unique perspective, couldn't help but comment on Howard's restlessness. "Can you please stop pacing? It's making my eyes spin."
"Nonsense! You're not the father; you won't understand my worries," Howard retorted, continuing his agitated walk.
"It won't change anything by being anxious," Alex sighed, acknowledging the anticipation.
"We have been together for years now without having any children. You can't comprehend my excitement," Howard grumbled, finally taking a seat.
"I understand," Alex replied casually, his thoughts already contemplating the future relationship between him and Tony. Should Tony regard him as an elder brother or an uncle?
Suddenly, the operating room lights dimmed, and a blonde nurse emerged, delivering the good news, "It's a boy, Mr. Howard. Mother and child are safe."
"Hahaha! Fantastic!" Howard rushed into the operating room with exhilaration.
Alex followed, entering a realm of contemplation about the evolving dynamics between him and the newly-born Tony Stark. Meanwhile, Raven, having completed seven years of rigorous training at S.H.I.E.L.D., emerged as a fully qualified agent, her extraordinary abilities ensuring a perfect success rate on any mission she undertook.
As Tony made his grand entrance into the world, Raven's face lit up with genuine joy. Howard, who had been a father figure to both Alex and her since childhood, stood by, creating a familial atmosphere that ran deep with emotional bonds.
In their rush to the operating room, a doctor emerged, cradling the newborn. Maria, Tony's mother, lay on the bed – pale yet radiant with the unmistakable glow of motherhood. She turned to Howard with a request, "My love, give our child a name."
"Just call him Tony, Tony Stark," Howard playfully teased, his eyes brimming with joy and tenderness.
Raven, leaning forward with eagerness, asked Howard if she could hold the newborn. "Be careful; don't hurt him," Howard cautioned.
The women took turns cradling Tony, their curiosity piqued by the arrival of the new family member. Amidst the joyous occasion, Raven couldn't resist a playful inquiry, "Should this little guy call Alex 'Brother' or 'Uncle'?"
"Definitely, brother; this bastard is also my son," Howard declared with unwavering certainty.
Raven, with a mischievous Alexk, added, "Well, a brother who's thirty years older."
Alex, undeterred by the banter, smiled. Whether Tony called him older brother or uncle didn't seem to matter. The age gap was significant, but it felt just right for this new addition to the family.
In response to Raven's teasing, Alex retorted lightly, "Indeed! He also has a sister who's thirty years older than him."
The operating room, amidst all the banter, emanated a serene and warm atmosphere. However, the doctor eventually intervened, reminding them of the need for rest. "The lady and the child need their rest. It's time for your visit to end," he informed them.
Reluctantly, the group walked out, realizing that the joyous visit had to come to an end, at least for now.
However, Howard had already set up Jarvis to fetch some extra fixings to assist Maria's recovery.
.....
Time rolled on, day by day.
Following the "First Battle," Charles hightailed it to the Mutant School in the city, keeping at his "Mutants and Humans Coexisting" drills.
Eric, stepping into Sebastian's shoes, rallied all of Sebastian's crew, took charge of the "Hellfire Club," and birthed the "Mutant Brotherhood."
As the two charted their own courses, Alex was soaking up a ludicrously delightful existence...
"Hmm..." Alex stirred on his grand bed, surrounded by white blooms and a crisp aroma.
Just last night, they bunked together again, but alas, the trio's skirmish ended in Alex's triumph.
Alex couldn't resist feeling victorious. After all, when the lad's mighty, the young lass leans on the wall, and the sturdy young lass finds herself laid out on the bed.
Clearly, he's the mighty one.
