"Do you know what I think?" Logan snorted, his expression darkened. "I heard you talking about me?"
As Raven brought Eric into the room, Logan's frustration erupted. "This is my idea!" he roared, lunging towards Raven. Three claws sprang from his fist, aiming to strike Raven with lethal force.
"Oh, you're quite brave!" Alex shook his head, anticipating the impending clash and Wolverine's likely fate.
"Do you want to dance?" Raven, undeterred, raised her arm. Her white, delicate fingers transformed, glowing a fiery red, resembling a blazing inferno.
A powerful beam of light shot from Raven's hand like a laser cannon, colliding forcefully with Wolverine.
"What..." Logan screamed as he was propelled backward by the impact. Had Raven not restrained her power, a significant hole would have marred Logan's chest.
Raven's ability was not limited to shape-shifting alone. Over the years, her ability had evolved. Raven could now not only mimic others but also possess their abilities simultaneously. The recent enhancement allowed her to combine partial shape-shifting with other abilities.
The laser cannon move Raven just executed was borrowed from Summer's abilities.
"How... how can you be this powerful? Are you still Mystique? How is this possible? I never knew Mystique had such power!" Wolverine, lying on the ground, stared at Raven in shock, grappling with the realization that the world was evolving faster than he could comprehend.
Wasn't Mystique only capable of changing appearances? Where did this newfound ability to unleash laser cannons come from? Why was it so different from the Mystique he thought he knew? The answers eluded him, leaving Wolverine bewildered in a world that seemed to be rewriting its rules.
"What's he planning? To fight with me? Darling, is there something off in this guy's brain!"
Raven seated herself beside Alex, her lips curling in a derisive Alexk aimed at Wolverine.
"Absolutely! He's got a screw loose, and he's seriously unwell."
From Logan's recent thoughts, Alex detected his intention to eliminate Raven outright, viewing it as a solution to the impending "doomsday crisis."
Sacrificing Raven for a potentially better future seemed worthwhile to Logan, considering the multitude of sacrifices foreseen in the future.
If it were the previous Mystique, she might not have been up to the challenge. However, the current Raven had no problem taking on Wolverine.
"Hey, did you summon me back just to watch a brawl?"
Eric, perched on a chair, raised an eyebrow as he surveyed the scene.
"Oh, definitely not."
Charles shook his head. "Eric, I glimpsed a horrifying future in Wolverine's memories. Take a look!"
With a mere thought, Charles transmitted the visions he saw in Logan's mind to Eric.
"The future? The end? It's really like this?"
Eric leapt to his feet in astonishment, his excitement evident. "I knew it! I knew it! These despicable humans are truly detestable!"
In Eric's perspective, the future's demise was solely due to human animosity towards Mutants, resulting in the creation of menacing Sentinels that ultimately obliterated the world.
"We must put an end to this!"
Charles regarded Eric with a solemn expression. "The Sentinel must never come into existence."
"It's simple."Eric sneered, tilting his head upward. "Just kill Trisk."
"No, no!" Wolverine scrambled to his feet and hastily intervened. "In the future I've witnessed, Trisk has been killed! Yet, Sentinels still emerge! Killing Trisk will only fuel human hatred towards Mutants. They'll relentlessly research various weapons. The future remains grim!"
"Huh? Your perspective sounds a lot like Charles's! A pacifist? A peaceful Wolverine?
How intriguing!"
Eric's lip curled in a disdainful sneer. "No matter how you want to prevent that future, Trisk must be the key. Everyone, Trisk is in Paris! Let's head there first!"
Simultaneously, Alex's psychic powers extended outward, sensing something. He lifted his head and addressed the group, "Paris? Yes! The Vietnam War has ended, and the Paris peace talks are underway. Trisk intends to present his Sentry plan at the Paris Peace Conference."
Charles swiftly deduced the motive, urging, "Go, let's head to Paris!"
The group wasted no time, boarding the plane crafted by Hank, hurtling toward Paris.
"Wait a moment, I'll bring Emma and Jessica. Their abilities have significantly improved; I believe they can be of great assistance to us."
As Charles and the others settled onto the plane, Alex shouted. In an instant, his form vanished, and upon reappearing, Emma and Jessica stood before the aircraft.
"All right, our mission is to get Trisk. Let's go together."

"How's the situation now? What are your plans?" Alex inquired.
"Trisk intends to present the 'Sentinels Plan' at the Paris Peace Conference," Eric explained as he took a seat. "Clearly, it's an anti-mutant initiative. I believe we need to hit back hard and make a strong statement! We should crack down on this anti-mutant sentiment, deter them, and make sure they think twice before taking any further actions against Mutants."
"That approach will only make things worse!" Charles objected immediately. "Based on the information Logan brought, the perceived threat from Mutants is pushing humanity to invest more in developing weapons against us. This path leads to a grim future. I'm afraid I have to disagree with Eric's approach. Peace is the only viable solution!"
"Kill them all! Anyone involved in studying or dealing with Mutant weapons should be eliminated. Mutants should rule the world. There's no other way for our future!" Eric persisted in advocating for an "armed struggle."
"I see," Alex sighed, touching his chin. "So, our main challenge isn't how to stop Trisk but... how to stop you two from tearing each other apart?"
"Uh... yes," Charles and Eric exchanged helpless glances.
In reality, both Charles and Eric p ssess the capability to eliminate Trisk and halt the Sentinels project effortlessly. The crux of the matter lies in their differing ideologies on how to achieve this goal.
Eric insists on "armed struggle," while Charles remains steadfast in his belief that "peace is the only way out." With no room for compromise, a deadlock ensues.
"Well, let me ask one question," Alex interjected, extending a finger. "Charles, currently, how many humans harbor hostility towards Mutants?"
"Not many! Most ordinary people are unaware of the existence of Mutants. Those who are aware often hold a mild rejection. At the same time, only a few truly harbor hostility," Charles answered, drawing on his psychic insights into the matter.
"I've got an idea, Charles. Since only a handful are hostile to Mutants, we can change their minds. Your telepathy, my mind power – it's a breeze."
Alex had always been perplexed by Charles's approach. Now that they knew some individuals were vehemently anti-mutant, why not directly modify their memories with psychic abilities? Why not change the situation outright?
"It's not a sustainable solution."
Charles shook his head. "If hostility toward Mutants grows in the future, are we going to keep altering memories?"
"Why not? It's better than a full-blown war between humans and Mutants, right?"
While not an ideal solution, it seemed a lesser evil. Why not take this route?
"Alex, your thoughts are dangerous! Every soul is free! We're not gods, and we can't manipulate others' souls!"
Charles was visibly angered by Alex's suggestion.
"God?"
Alex's eyes narrowed as he replied, "Charles, sometimes it's the only way to solve things. True, none of us is a god, but you've also witnessed the persecution of Mutants. This is for the good of both humanity and Mutants."
Charles sighed, then shook his head. "Regardless, I won't agree to this. If you go ahead, Alex, I'll have to stop you."
"Ohh, interesting." Alex shrugged.
As Charles and Eric continued their heated debate, Alex stared out the window. He pondered an incredibly straightforward way to gain access to Trisk Industries.
Interrupting the ongoing program might halt the countries that witnessed Mutant powers, but not those unaware.
"Alex, what's your take on this?"
Eric grabbed Alex's shoulder, demanding his attention. "Hey, what's going on?"
Still dazed from a moment ago, Alex hadn't caught the details of Eric and Charles's conversation.
"I mean, arguing won't get us anywhere, and no one can convince anyone. So... let's each handle this in our own way!" Eric declared, rising to his feet. "I'll handle it my way. I don't want to waste time on pointless debates!"
"So, are we settling this between us through a brawl?" Charles sighed, glancing helplessly at Eric. "Eric, I'll stand in your way! Violence isn't the solution!"
"But violence can be the answer to our problems!" Eric retorted, turning away and exiting.
Once again, the longstanding rivalry between the two ended in dissatisfaction.
Shaking his head, Alex lamented the recurring conflicts between the former comrades. They used to be close friends.
An idea struck him.
Sighing softly, Alex found himself inclined to Eric's approach. Showing humans the power of Mutants could be akin to nuclear deterrence, making them think twice.
