Bab 170: SHIELD's Reaction
SHIELD had already detected Li Yue right after he appeared. They immediately reported his appearance to the Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury!
Nick Fury was having a headache regarding the Hydra infestation in his agency. His investigation revealed way too many Hydra agents among SHIELD personnel; just like Li Yue said, he should just change the agency name into Hydra Shield Bureau!
It was impossible to discreetly capture so many Hydra agents with small task force of SHIELD's own, so even after all this time, Nick Fury hadn't come to a suitable solution!
He didn't expect another unthinkable event would occur in the middle of all this!
But he couldn't cry over every spilled milk. Nick Fury helplessly put down his thoughts and turned his attention to the new incident.
"Director, this is all of the information we have gathered about the person in the video. Please review it!"
Hill handed a file to Nick Fury!
Similar to the other intelligence agencies, SHIELD's surveillance satellites and facilities were also unable to get a clear image of the person flying in the air. But the expert personnel at SHIELD was able to measure the speed and maneuverability. The collected data were compiled in the form of a biographical data.
SHIELD had already faced and analyzed countless humans with special abilities—Enhanced. Moreover, if they know the identity of those special humans, they would assign special personnel to monitor them!
"Is this all we can find?"
Nick Fury stared at the file for a while, silent, before asking a short question to Hill! The biographical data was basically empty, with the "Strength" field filled with "Immeasurable/Invincible"!
Below that was a detailed analysis of what little data they managed to gleam about Li Yue's ability.
First was superspeed. He could fly in excess of Mach 15! And his body must be stronger than steel to resist the temperature of thousands of degree. It could reach the limit of space without any assistance, so it must not require oxygen. The list goes on!
At the end, there was a sentence: it was impossible to know where his limit was!
To summarize: it would be impossible to fend against this person with ordinary methods. If he goes in a rampage, there would be few weapons or people that could effectively resist him!
But the file also noted that the person didn't seem to have hostile intent. After all, he went out of his way to avoid airplanes during his high-speed flight.
"Yes, Director, this is all. As far as I know, neither our satellites nor the ones operated by the US government could capture a clear image of him. It was almost like a powerful hacker is interfering with us!
"If this hacker does exist, they must be very strong. Our technicians can't find any trace of them, so we cannot launch any counterattack! Thus, the lack of information about this person," Hill replied helplessly to Nick Fury.
"Okay...continue to get more people on this. We need to find his real appearance...right, get Stark to help us! And ask Natasha to fly a Quinjet to the target location. Remember to stay low and out of his sight.
"Return immediately if he finds out. Avoid provoking and confronting him!" Nick Fury barked a few orders after thinking for a while!

"Could he be the same as Carol Danvers? If only there's a way to know if he's a friend of foe!"
The strength that far surpassed humans reminded Nick Fury of the person that called herself Captain Marvel more than a decade ago. She was the reason that inspired Nick Fury to establish the Avengers!
However, the implementation of this idea was exceedingly difficult, beyond even Nick Fury's imagination.
After more than ten years, his plan was finally on the cusp of real implementation. He had finally found talents suitable to be members of the Avengers!
Who knows how he would feel when he discovered that a bunch of the talents that he wanted to recruit had already joined Justice League!

"What is he going to do next? What is the origin of his ability? We've always kept Tesseract under close watch, so there's no way that he could come into contact with it! And why is he so blatantly exposing his ability?"
Nick Fury had a lot of unanswered questions about this person. But as he had advised to the United States government, he didn't dare to act rashly either!
After all, Nick Fury had bore witness to an enraged Carol Danvers. She had been able to singlehandedly fight against an interstellar invasion fleet, destroying countless battleships before finally driving them away from Earth.
And the person in the file that he was holding, while not quite at the level of Captain Marvel, must be quite high in the food chain as well.
The person's ability had surpassed Tony Stark's Iron Man technology. Nick Fury would even say that the person's ability had surpassed the God of Thunder plus Mjolnir from the incident a month ago.
At the very least, Earth possessed no surefire weapon against him! Perhaps nuclear bombs would be able to knock him back, but it comes with a cost that they cannot pay!
"I had hoped that it wouldn't come to this! But Project Pegasus needs to enter second phase! We wouldn't be able to do anything against these unknown special humans otherwise!"
Nick Fury obviously still had some backup plan: the pager that "she" had left with him before leaving Earth. It was capable of transmitting message across galaxies! But he didn't want to use it unless absolutely necessary!
"But I still have to see about this person! If I can use him, I can put him into the Avengers!"
Nick Fury cleared his thought and pushed it all to the back of his mind. He still have to go through a lot of preparations to advance Pegasus into the second phase. He should focus his attention to this sudden appearance of a superhuman; maybe he could benefit from this crisis.

Turning back to Li Yue, who was still thinking hard about how to make himself look cool and showcase his strength!
He had to admit that it would be cooler if he could intimidate his foes just by silently standing in a cool pose.
After thinking for so long, all he could thought of was blowing up a mountain or something. At the very least it would deter the less-savory organizations!
He didn't actually have a criteria of what "cool" actually means. He just wanted to show a bit of strength to prevent others from provoking him carelessly.
Since it was just a show of force, Li Yue tried to find a deserted place. He would feel bad if he randomly injured a passerby!
Li Yue had scouted a nice place from the sky and flew there right away!
With Li Yue speed, the relatively short distance was crossed in around a dozen second. He arrived at the sky above the target area.
The deserted area extended beyond the horizon. It was extremely desolate. There wasn't even weed or tree around, and there was no water source.
Yellow sand filled his sight as far as eyes could see. There was no sign of human activity, and no speck of green to be seen.
Unlike regular desert, however, there were countless stone formation in the distance. There were piles of stones that looked like mountain peaks, although they were only a few dozen meters tall.
"Let's do it here!"
Li Yue floated around a hundred meters away from the ground. He focused his spiritual sense, confirming that there was no sign of life within ten kilometers.
He was ready to unleash a wave of energy here!
