Alex POV:
I had woken up, ain't that weird?
I face planted into concrete from a 6 story building, I'm pretty sure your not supposed too wake up from that
I took a look around and I wasn't on the pavement thats for sure
It had looked like a smallish room with minimal decoration, a small bed, a bedside table and a closet, the walls were painted a dark blue and the floor was made of wood
I was about too get up when I was struck with the worst headache of my life, it felt like I was about to have my head split in two, but just as quick as it came, it left and in my head where a plethora of new memories
My name is Alex Nill, a 10 year old boy with no outstanding features except for an above average talent for the arts and a constant disconnection from reality, almost as if he wasn't a part of it, from the looks of it that pretty much described how I was like as a kid and I think I know why
I was reincarnated
And not just anywhere, but in Marvel, the movies at least because people like Tony Stark, look like their real world Actors, which at least means that I won't have to fight interdimensional beings, so that's a plus
After the headache past and I had recollected my thoughts though something else entirely came

"Alex, coming for breakfast?" Said a woman, who barged into my room, she had dark hair up to her hips in a big single braid and dark black eyes a pretty face, she was wearing a yellow sweater under an apron with blue jeans and was armed with a spatula, looking at my memories, that would be my mother, Madeline Nill, head cook for the Paradise restaurant and certified best single mom in the world
"Ah, coming in a second" I had told her and she left
According to my memories, its the first day of winter break, well for other kids, apparently we had just moved in a few days ago so we didn't have enough time for me to go to school
I live in new York, specifically queens, but since I didn't live in New York in my past life, I had no idea what that meant
I had gotten changed and walked downstairs after a quick shower and brushing my teeth
"What are you cooking? It smells nice" I had said, walking into the kitchen
"Japanese style pancakes with maple syrup, topped with fresh berry and whipped cream" she had said, not taking her eyes off of the stove
"Why do you have to sound like your making the worlds most complex dish every time you cook anything?" I had asked her, getting seated
"Force of habit, you have to make your food sound like it would taste good as well so that your brain thinks it'll taste better" she said with a smirk
"Any other helpful tips I should know about food?" He said
"Well, if you eat too fast, you won't be able to savour the taste of food but if you eat too slow, then you wouldn't be able too eat it whilst its hot and flavourful" she had said bringing two plates of jiggly and thick pancakes topped with a generous amount of whipped cream
They had started to dig in, feasting on the food in front of them, the plates clean when they where done
I had gotten up and started to do the dishes whilst mother got ready to go to work
"Love you" she said exiting the door
"Love you too" he said before the door closed and he was left alone in the house
After finishing the dishes he dried his hands and went outside
"Time to test out what Makima can do!"
