Bab 29: Ch-29 Swallowing Spiritual Essence, Awakening An Entry!
Russell felt that this phenomenon was familiar.
Why was it similar to the spirit Khonshu had just summoned?
Before he could investigate further, the voice of laura rang out beside him.
"Aren't we going back, Russell?"
Russell blinked in surprise and replied, "Don't you see?"
Laura tilted her head in confusion.
"See what?"
Even with her enhanced night vision, she couldn't see anything unusual.
Russell was genuinely surprised this time.
"It's the same green points of light as before in the pyramid. You really can't see them?"
Laura blinked and looked around carefully, but still found nothing.
"Nope. Are you hallucinating?"
Her tone became alarmed as she began to scan the area.
Russell frowned.
Was it really an illusion? Or was it something that only he could see?
After a moment of thought, he tentatively reached out and touched one of the green points of light.
Immediately, a strange transformation occurred!
The dot of light sank into his fingertip and disappeared!
Russell was struck by an indescribable sensation, and at the same time, a voice echoed in his ears:
[ Warning: Host has absorbed spiritual essence. ]
[ No contamination detected. Fusion successful. ]
[ Warning canceled. ]
Was this... the spiritual essence Khonshu had acquired during the transaction? And he had absorbed it?
What was the mechanism behind it?
Russell wasn't afraid. If the system canceled the warning, it probably meant that there was no danger.
What puzzled him was 'why' his had happened.
Could it be because the earlier transaction had failed, leaving some kind of connection?
Regardless of the reason, Russell's eyes lit up as he observed the spiritual essence scattered across the mountains, shining like stars.
His heartbeat quickened.
From the knowledge he received from Baron Mordo, Russell knew there were many benefits to a strengthened soul.
1-Mental Fortification.
A stronger soul increased mental resilience, making it harder for others to invade your mind. At higher levels, you could even trap invaders within your own mental domain. However, success depended on the power differential between the two parties.
2-Enhanced Magic Control.
A powerful soul improved the mastery of complex magic, making intricate spells and secret techniques easier to execute.
3-Enhanced Astral Projection.
With a strengthened soul, the duration of astral projection increased significantly. Learning spells in this state has become much more efficient.
4-Soul-Based Existence.
At an extreme level, a strong soul could completely abandon the physical body and exist as a purely spiritual entity. In this form, magical abilities were amplified exponentially.
While Russell recognized the potential of soul-based existence, he had no intention of abandoning his physical form unless absolutely necessary, such as in an emergency or for a tactical retreat.
But those weren't the only reasons he was excited.
According to Mordo's records, a strong soul could possess special powers- including divine power!
That's right!
The gods of Asgard weren't just aliens; they were true gods.
Their divine power originated from the Elder Goddess Gaia, and the World Tree was said to be connected to this lineage.
Although Russell's system was able to plunder divine power, it was unlikely that it could fully charge such abilities without the proper foundation.
Therefore, strengthening his own soul was crucial.
Complementarity with the system was the key to true power!
Russell's fiery gaze fixed on the glowing spiritual light spots in front of him.
Khonshu had spent years planning for this, and now Russell had claimed it all for himself!
Although this was only a small portion of what remained of the pyramid, it was still substantial.
"Danger?"
The system had authenticated it. If anything unexpected happened, it would simply be a matter of bad luck.
Russell took a deep breath and decided to act.
If he waited any longer, someone else might discover this treasure and steal it. That would be a terrible loss!
Informing the laura that there was no time to lose, Russell sat cross-legged and began meditating to absorb the magical energy floating freely in the air.
Immediately, it was as if the stars themselves had been disturbed. The spiritual points of light, scattered like constellations, began to converge on Russell.
If anyone could project their soul into the astral realm, they would witness a breathtaking sight - an immense vortex of light forming around Russell.
It was as if an entire galaxy was descending to Earth, swirling magnificently.
After several hours, as dawn began to break, Russell opened his eyes.
A spark of brilliance flickered in them.
At that moment, he felt like a giant, capable of wielding unparalleled power with a mere gesture.
Of course, Russell knew that this was only an illusion caused by his suddenly enhanced soul. It would soon fade as his soul and body fully synchronized.
Once again, the system's voice rang out:
[ Ability awakening detected. Transforming entries... ]
[ Transformation complete! ]
