When Lily and Marcus broke out from their jinx, they stepped out from each other's space. "I'm sorry!" said Marcus before turning around and going to the terrace. Lily was left standing there like an idiot and she could not believe he was going to be a coward and walk away. She felt stupid for kissing him though her heart admitted that that was the best kiss she had ever had. She needed to get back to the house and have a good shower to wash her mind away from the thoughts and so she went in search of Martha. She could not find Martha at the bar and when she asked the bartender, he told her that she had gone to play ping pong with some guys. He directed her to the area where Martha was last seen but she was not there. Her heart began to bleed! Could her father's people had come to take Martha and she had been so neck deep in lust that they had succeeded? She calmed her panicking self and went to the terrace to inform Marcus.
They set out to look for Martha. In the crowd, on the couches, in the restroom that looked like a fight had gone on and…
"A fight!" exclaimed Lily and she decided to call Michael. She did not know how Mr James was going to take the news that his daughter was missing. He had even gotten bodyguards but those ones were no where to be seen. She did not even know what they looked like.
After the third ring, Michael answered her call and confirmed her fears that Martha was involved in a fight but he calmed her down and told her that she was safe.
The clouds changed and suddenly rain began to fall. Nathan picked up his sword and he walked to Martha and picked her up from the ground. He placed her on his shoulder and took her into the club house. There were special suites in the club where people could spend the night and Carl gave Nathan the best room they had.
As Nathan carried Martha, she murmured in her drunk state, "I don't know who you are but you sure smell good!". Nathan rolled his eyes and continued walking - she was like a child. Anytime she gets close to alcohol, the child in her is awakened. One moment she is violent, the next she is spewing gibberish from her mouth.
Nathan had ordered Carl to cut off one of Ryder's hands and treat the knife injury on the guy's chest.
Carl got to work immediately.
Nathan sent a text to James Jordan that Martha was with him and that he would bring her back safely the next morning as he could not bring her under the rain.
People could not move because of the heavy rain that began to pour and people began to book the suites that were in the club house. Marcus suggested they get rooms since the weather did not seem like it was clearing any time soon. When they went to book their rooms, the queue to the receptionist was quite long and there were fourteen couples before them - a total of twenty eight persons. Lily had gone to pick her purse as well as Martha's and she was glad that all their valuables were still intact.
When it got to their turn, they were told that they could not give the both of them two separate rooms and that since they claimed to be friends, they could also just share a room for the night. It would not be so hard! There was nothing they could do because in sincere facts, if the crowd was to be managed due to the weather, two people would have to share a room.
The club suites are not hotel oriented.
As Nathan got to the room and closed the door, Martha began to squirm on his shoulder for him to bring her down. Her subconscious felt threatened like she was being kidnapped. Nathan said nothing as he dropped her on the bed and laid her there. Immediately her back touched the bed, she laid there and began to smile and make cute faces.
"Who…what are..you? I…I want to..see your face!" she said and tried to get up on her feet but her legs wobbled but Nathan caught her.and opened his eyes in surprise. As he caught her, his newsboy hat tilted from his head and fell off and his hair fell over his face.
"Wow! And you also have…pre..pretty hair. It reminds me of someone but I know you aren't him. He…he would never come for me!" said Martha and she ran her fingers through her hair.
"I think I sound pathetic right now" said Martha and a sad laugh left her lips. "I came here to…to forget all my worries but…but here I am, filled with them and basking in it all. Do I.. do I seem attractive to you, stranger?" asked Martha and she unwrapped her hands around his neck - looking like a freaking seductress under the dim pale yellow light.
Nathan did not want to say anything so she would not hear his voice but his heart was breaking into fragments by her words. She was definitely speaking of him? She thought he would never come for her whenever she was in trouble but how he wished she knew how much he died every time he had to send someone else to save her.
"Do you…find…" before she finished her words, her intestinal walls coiled on reflex and Martha puked all over Nathan's shirt and mask. It seemed like she had more coming and he immediately took her to the toilet. She knelt by it and he helped hold her hair from falling on her face. He rubbed his hand in mindless shapes as she emptied everything that was in her system into the toilet. He gently placed her hair on her back and peeled the mask off his face and his shirt off his body. He cleaned the puke that was on the floor and was grateful that his coat was not soaked. When he went back to the toilet, she was asleep on the toilet floor. She was really a mess!
He picked her up and took her to the sink. He washed her face and her eyes fluttered open a little. She took some water into her mouth and gaggled the water in her mouth before pouring it into the sink while Nathan flushed the toilet. As she lifted her head from the sink she looked through the mirror and saw someone. Her eyes and brain could not comprehend who it was and she abruptly turned around, causing her head to ache slightly to understand who it was.
"Na…Nathan?"
