Bab 72: The switched flas drive

"Hey Maria, you look amazing tonight," Maria turned to look at who the compliment was coming from. Her face squeezed in confusion when she saw Matteo.

"Thanks?" She replied, unsure of what to say. 

It wasn't like she had an issue with Matteo. It was more like they never spoke. She wondered why he suddenly felt the need to compliment her. She waited for him to say something else, but he kept staring awkwardly at her.

"Is that all?" She asked.

"Huh?" He replied. She looked at him with a little bit of worry now.

"I said, is that all you wanted to tell me?" She asked again.

Oh," he laughed nervously. "Yeah, that's all,"

"Okay,"

"Wait," he raised his voice as she made to leave.

"What is it now?" She asked impatiently.

"I just wanted to let you know that Vincenzo has not been himself ever since you left,"

"And this is my business; why?"

"Just thought you should know," he said and walked away.
