The past couple of years, since I’d settled down with Mark, I’d felt the desire to have a family of my own. I hadn’t wanted to pressure Mark, especially since I carried the factor X gene, and the last thing I wanted to do was pass that on to an unfortunate child of my getting, but adopting would have been a possibility. But now we had Joe, and Mark intended to keep the boy.

“Okay, Quinn, listen to me. Your branch of the Mann/Sebring clan isn’t going to die out with you, not on my watch. Matheson and Theo went the surrogate route. We can do that as well.”

I couldn’t keep my jaw from dropping. He was willing to raise a baby with me?
