Bab 69: Her Intelligence

After dinner, the group emerged from the private dining room. They ran into Lynn and a few of her female friends. The women greeted Elijah with laughter. Elijah seemed to know everyone and greeted them warmly. However, it was clear that their attention was elsewhere, as their eyes kept darting towards Lucius. Lucius, however, remained indifferent, not even sparing them a glance.

Lynn looked at Lucius with a hint of complaint. "You're so insincere. I called you, and you said you weren't in Deep City. Yet, here you are. Isn't this awkward?"

Lucius replied calmly, "I just got back."

Lynn pouted, "I don't believe you. It's clear you don't consider me one of your own anymore."
