A car horn sounded.
After walking for more than twenty minutes, An Ning turned around and saw a white SUV slowly driving up.
If not this car, then when?
Determined, she waved her arms vigorously.
"Stop the car, stop the car..."
"President, there's a girl ahead asking for a ride," the bodyguard Zhao Gang, who was in the driver's seat, said.
Yu Jingchen lifted his eyes nonchalantly to look ahead and his profound gaze immediately darkened a shade.
Was it her?
Xiaoliu, in the passenger seat, exclaimed in surprise, "Isn't this girl the one from the surveillance footage? The one who found Great Demon King's item."
"Right, that's the girl. President, should we let this girl get in the car?" Though Zhao Gang was asking, the car had already pulled up beside the girl.
Yu Jingchen glanced over indifferently. "Haven't you already stopped the car? Do you still need to ask me?"
Zhao Gang rubbed his ears and smiled sheepishly. "I thought she looked quite pitiful, a young girl who's just had blood drawn by her biological father and stepmother and is now walking alone in the wilderness; it's quite worrying."
Yu Jingchen let out a snort.
After Xiaoliu got out of the car, he gestured with his hand and said, "Hello."
An Ning quickly bowed deeply in response. "Hello, thank you for stopping the car."
"Don't mention it, it was our president who told you to get in the car; you should thank our president," the orderly said as he opened the door to the back seat. "Please get in the car."
Sitting inside the car, Yu Jingchen frowned again, glancing firmly at his personal bodyguard. 'How did it become his call? Had he ever said to let this girl get in the car?'
An Ning got into the car, filled with gratitude.
Soon, she felt a coldness seeping into her limbs.
Then she saw a very handsome and dashing figure. Although he was seated, one could tell he was quite tall, his suit delineating exceedingly smooth lines of the body.
The face was as cold and perfect as an ice sculpture, with memorable, sharp features; the slightly pursed lips and proud chin's curvature were full of character.
His thick eyebrows brimming with vigor, the lofty bridge of his nose, and eyes as dark as pools released a forthright and proud light.
Even though he wasn't focusing his full attention on her, just a glance was enough to make An Ning feel an oppressive pressure bearing down on her.
An Ning held her breath involuntarily; she had never encountered such a handsomely intense person with such an overwhelming aura. "Thank you," she said.
Yu Jingchen merely 'hmm'ed in response, then buried himself back into his paperwork.
An Ning inwardly gave this boss a negative review for his arrogance.
Perhaps because the car seat was too comfortable, An Ning soon felt drowsy.
Only when the car entered the city did An Ning feel embarrassed to sit any longer, pointing at a subway station entrance, "I can get off here, thank you."
"Where do you live? I'll take you home directly." Yu Jingchen, who had been silent, suddenly asked in a domineering tone.
"Oh, there's no need; I can take the subway from here," An Ning hastily declined.
Yu Jingchen frowned and asked impatiently again, "Your address?"
His pressing tone made An Ning reveal an address, "..."
Fine then, if the Great Executive wants to drop her off, she might as well respectfully comply. "Thank you, then," she said.
