"Won't that change the future?"
No, I'm already changing the future. This body isn't supposed to be alive. This body doesn't even have a chance to be loved or even able to borne a child. And now...
This body is mine. This body is loved. And if everything goes well, this body will have kids. Maybe one, maybe two, maybe even more. They will love this body.
They will love me.
"If, and only if... The Crown Prince is removed from his throne, then the eligible heir would be..."
The Fourth Prince. My husband.
"Yes, host."
"I thought I already turn off your mind reading capability?"
"...your train of thought is easy to guess, host."
----------
Within that white space, the invisible system was sweating imaginary bullets after lying to its own host while the latter crack his mind about the possibility of what he just thought off.
"Changing the Crown Prince should be kept as an option, but for now, let just push that as a last resort. What are they doing know at the banquet?"
"The Crown Prince and Jia Ru does not have much interaction, host. After the initial introduction, the banquet begins and the guests begin to moves around. The Crown Prince keep his distance away. I can feel he is slightly conflicted with what's he's feeling right now, host."
As the host lay unmoved on the white floor, listening to the live update on what's happening at the banquet, his poor husband was left chuckling over his own bride craftiness.
His eyes glaze over his bride sleeping state, watching the small rising on the latter's chest, listening to the soft snore. Withdrawing his length from his bride's body, a soft moan sounded to his ears. A soft smile curved on the Prince lips, kissing his bride's forehead, before stepping away to fetch the cleaning basin.
This has became a daily routine with the Prince, every single night, without fail, after their heavy love making practice. The Prince will gently clean up his bride, while the ger, now pregnant with the Prince's, would be sleeping away, unaware of it.
Or so he thinks.
The ger, scratch that, the host, acknowledge the Prince's deed, making it hard for him to contain his feelings. The host is torn between falling genuinely for his subject, or ignore his feeling and just completed the task given. He knows his time in this world is limited, and if he doesn't act soon, the whole world will crumble and his task will failed.
'Is the task is what important, or the love of his life is what's matter?'
Such thought have been around the said host for such a long time and ultimately been known by the system's manager.
And the higher up.
"Sir, it seems like the host is having an inner conflict. I don't think he is ready to pull this world through, sir. Should we do something about it?"
The system's manager is taking the time when it's host was busily contemplating on his own decisions to sneakily make a contact with the higher power of the said system.
"No, the world will doom to fail if we pulled him out right now. The destiny is already changing with his involvement so such hiccup is only some minor setback. He is the chosen candidate, Zero Three. We might obtain him a bit too early, but I'm sure, he's ready."
While this happen inside the host's space, the banquet is happening in full swing. The celebrated guest, the 'princess', is surrounded by multiple other guests, mainly the sons of the kingdom's noble family. She is handling herself well, fully embracing her role as a princess. Given her so called status, the other young nobles keep a polite and almost pampering attitude towards her. However, one must have realized, the host, namely the Crown Prince, have not make any point to approach the 'princess', after their initial greeting at the beginning of the banquet.
Decorum indicates that the host must at least show some face toward her, after all, she is the kingdom's honoured guest. But for the Crown Prince, he is inwardly baffled with his own feeling, thus making an unsightly decision to just avoid the 'princess' altogether.
At least until his brother arrives.
"Pardon this Prince for being late. This Prince has to attend to his bride first."
The crowds goes ecstatic upon realizing the aloof Fourth Prince has arrived, halfway through the banquet. The Crown Prince cheerfully approach his younger brother and hug him. The whole kingdom knows about their brotherly love thus this action doesn't seem out if place at all.
Little did they know, the Crown Prince is taking this opportunity to beg forgiveness from the aloof prince.
"Sorry, brother. But I really need you right now."
----------
"What do you mean the Fourth Prince is there?"
I instantly wake up upon receiving this information from Zero Three. I glance around, noticing that I'm alone on the big bed. Freshly clean, but alone nevertheless.
"The Prince received a message from the Crown Prince, to take his place as the host. So when he leaves early, the banquet can still goes on."
"And he dares to leave me here alone?"
I have no idea why my temper suddenly rose. Perhaps it was due to the fact that nothing have gone right at all?
"... The Prince wants to refused, but then second message came. The Crown Prince is begging for his help."
This perks my curiosity more than my rage. According to Zero Three, the Crown Prince, using his coded message, told my husband that he feel uncomfortable and can't seem to approach that imposter. Worried that this act might get woman act unknowingly towards their kingdom, he asked for help.
"And what can they do? Ughh."
I slowly rise from the bed, trying to avoid using those aching muscles before I called for Xiao Er.
"Yes, Consort Jae Hee?"
"Help me dress up and summon the carriage ready."
I slowly walk toward divider, getting ready to change my inner wear. My body was already cleaned by my husband, so I didn't feel uncomfortable, just a bit sore.
"May I ask, where are you planning to go, Consort?"
"The banquet of course. The Prince is already there, right? He can't host the banquet by himself when he already has me as his bride."
I realized that I may have revealed a bit too much by the look of Xiao Er's eyes. But hell, I'm not going to let the main mission given by the system fail.
Remember?
'Your mission, host, is to prevent Mo Xue from falling in love with Jia Ru... you can use any measure to complete the mission given.'
"But the Prince has tasked me to-"
I swiftly turn towards my maid slash guard and utter something that I've never thought of saying.
"My husband will be alone attending some bitch. Don't you think you should help me defending what's mine?"
----------
As soon as those sentences leave the mouth of the soul-changed Consort, the maids that enters with Xiao Er were stunned.
Never have they hear such harsh tone coming from their master as the Consort was always well mannered and kind. However, seeing his tired looks, and his watered red eyes, the maids scuttle over and help him getting ready.
Xiao Er was equally shocked but manage to compose herself in record time to usher the maids under her to help the Consort. She even bring a cold compress and apply it to the Consort's eyes, while silently disburse her own qi to help elevate the Consort's energy.
The soul-changed Consort curve a small smile as he stare at Xiao Er's reflection on the mirror, thanking her. It only took them around fifteen minutes to get the Consort ready.
The ger looks lovely wearing a plum coloured robe, with a darker coloured belt adorn his waist. A single white jade, carrying a mark of a prince's consort hung on his left side. His hair was made up simply as well, just as his preference, a half-do with matching hair ribbon and a single hair accessory, in the shape of the plum blossom. Strands of hair frame his features, making his slender neck appears longer.
Xiao Er was having a hard time from keeping a smile from appearing on her face and as soon as she left with the Consort to the banquet, she is already thinking of whom she's going to share her finding with.
The Consort is jealous.
Oh, the Prince should know first.
But then... His Consort is already on his way.
