The eyes of an Oracle are not the same as any other people eyes. If Azief lost his eyes, it would regenerate itself and he had a brand new eye that felt no different than the previous one. But there are some ways to make some deformities permanent.

The eye is a blessing and a curse. That is how to inflict permanent mortal injury to a God. A curse. Odin had drink the water of Mimr well and gain the ability to see the future.

The price for that knowledge is his eyes.
