Bab 65: Chapter XVI: The Candle and the Sun and Moon [1]

TWO YOUNG MEN were sat under a spruce tree. They wore a knight's armor and bore the raven crest. The scenery behind them depicted the silhouette of a stone fortification, standing against the setting sun. As the beauty of dusk instilled joy to one of them, melancholy settled within the other. Despite their difference akin to night and day, the two boasted a friendship of a life time.

"In five years the Duke will relinquish his position, and pass the ducal seat to you, eh?" said the young Balmeister with an indifferent tone, straying his eyes from his overly enthusiastic companion.
