Bab 29: Increase in Tonnes
Thud…thud…thud…
The humanoid robot stood up and walked towards them with heavy deep thudding sounds. The researchers were looking down at the thing from above the control room. The humanoid walked and stopped before the door of two Storey control room, as it was over 2 meters tall it wasn't able to enter inside through the normal sized gate. Then under the shocked gazes of everyone it lifted its hands which glowed red and swiped it on the door. After which the door where the hand was passing started disappearing like it was being erased.
After a few more swipes the door and its surroundings were gone leaving behind a hole big enough to fit the robot easily. Then, the glow from the arm receded as it brought its hands near its face and seemed to be checking it. Then it raised its head and stared straight at the windows of the building peering right towards Vidit and spoke.
"Greetings, Humans of Earth. I am Wolf, one of the defenders of S***** H**. During the great war I was injured and my functions were too damaged for me to operate. During hundreds of years of collecting energy from sun and surroundings and the conduction of energies from your experiments I am finally able to start back and recover 1% of my injuries and some vital systems for my operation."
"I thank you for your assistance, even though your goals were different, but still it helped me. For that I will tell you some information, I have sent out the emergency beacon, and any patrol ships receiving the signal would come by even the earliest at 2 years time. So, all earth has two years worth of time before being incorporated by us."
As the people heard that their faces became pale as paper and fear crept up in their hearts and some weak minded people even started trembling out of fear. Wolf the robot seemed to have noticed their fears and voiced out : Do not fear, for we are not war mongrels or Space Farers that prey upon another civilizations or use them as slaves. This is an opportunity of lifetime for the people of earth to step into space and reach beyond this tiny star system."
The eerie mechanical voice of the Wolf sounded like a devils whisper tempting them to bit the forbidden fruit. Then from its palm a small round device dropped on to the floor and rolled forward "I will leave this device here, after contacting your leaders you can use this to inform me of your decisions or contact me if it is an emergency, I will try my best to help humans in return of helping me. Either way if you agree or not the arrival and integration of earth is inevitable, so it's in our best interests that you all do not try any foolish things."
Just as Wolf finished speaking the huge underground chamber rumbled and shook and a piercing alarm went off. Wolf then turned around and started dissolving in to the ground leaving behind words that left the people scrambling in panic "I forgot to mention, this facility is going to be destroyed. If u all wanna live then you better leave now or else you will be buried alive" and with disappearence of Wolf all hell broke lose as everyone rushed towards emergency exits. Even though they were panicked, Vidit didn't forget to go and pick the device that was left by Wolf.
He picked up the ball and ran back with the Sanyam and others towards the exit. "Vidit, I have already sent out the emergency signal, they…will arrive…in…an…hour. Sanyam huffed and puffed as he spoke and ran with Vidit clearly being a scientist and old he and Vidit doesn't are straining themselves to run for their lives.
As they were escaping it was the same above as except for anyone with weapons were killed and remaining were leaving the base in hurry. It was a shocking sight for the remaining thousands of people to see the sudden deaths of people and emergency evacuation.
The perpetrator of all this incident Alex was happily watching as Nanites devoured tons upon tons of metal and weapons and techs. They were increasing ever rapidly like a blanket of death wherever they passed everything was erased from existence and turned into virtual data and stored in them. Alex also found out that the entire facility was powered by two nuclear power plants built a few kilometers away from the facility they were in.
Each floor has emergency gateway that will lead them to the separate bunker like area outside of the facility. Thousands of people started evacuating neatly and reached the bunkers and along the way many tried to escape through the planes or the vehicles but to their disappointment there were no vehicles present and every vehicle either be an land or aviation vehicles everything seemed to have disappeared mysteriously.
They couldn't do anything but had to return back to the path towards the evacuation in just 15 minutes every person alive entered the bunkers and the doors were locked shut. After confirming that all the doors of bunkers were shut Alex let the Nanites surface and had them devour everything in their site. During this time they had been devouring silently from the bottom most floors and reached a large number, now that they don't have to hide and devour they travelled to first floor and started eating through everything.
Their numbers started increasing in a rapid speed from 20tonnes....30tonnes....50tonnes....100ton
