Bab 42: Chapter 42 - Illusion

The ground around the crater was scorched and blackened as if it had been subjected to intense heat. The air crackled with residual energy, and Zack could feel a tingling sensation on his skin as he approached.

The crater itself was deep and ominous, disappearing into darkness as Zack peered over its edge. Its walls were smooth and almost glass-like, hinting at the incredible force that had carved it out of the earth.

"Still, where is the boss or the wormhole?" Zack furrowed his eyebrows.

Zack imagined that the crater had been caused by the explosion of the boss of the giant fire slimes, but if they kept popping out, the creature should have returned with the wormhole. 

The only thing he could do was to jump in the crater, but that seemed too risky. Zack could tell that was the only thing he could do, but it was also the best option for a monster to ambush him.
