"Daddy..." Charlene immediately pouted upon hearing her father saying she had caused trouble for Gu Shaoting.

"You, my dear, are indeed a little troublemaker," John said to her with a hint of exasperation.

Only then did Gu Shaoting notice Charlene by his side, impeccably dressed and radiant, but he remained impassive, just casting a cursory glance her way.

Feeling somewhat embarrassed, Gu Shaoting realized that Charlene had been at the company for some time, and he had left her in the care of his secretary without much attention. Now, hearing Mr. John's remarks, he felt a pang of guilt.

"Brother Gu, the banquet is a great success," Charlene remarked, unwilling to be ignored. When she noticed Gu Shaoting looking her way, she returned his gaze with a charming smile.

"Thank you," Gu Shaoting nodded faintly.
