Bab 119: Goldenrod City
Liam has finally arrived at Goldenrod City and he was loving it. It was a busy and bustling city. He had forgotten about his previous adventures on the island as he was just enjoying himself in the city.
He was finally able to get a nice comfortable bed to sleep in and they had several bars and entertainment places where he could easily have fun. He wanted him and his Pokémon to be able to relax.
He took all his Pokémon to go see a Pokémon spa in the underground level of the city where he had heard good things about a famous Pokémon breeder there.
Going in there, Eevee had changed her style and was looking quite cute after the grooming. Liam continued to explore the city for a few days while his Pokémon was relaxing. After chilling for a few days, he decided to finally go get his next gym badge.
When he got to the gym, he was surprised by how relaxed they were. They weren't even training. As soon as Whitney, the gym leader saw Liam, she had stars in her eyes as she thought, "What a good-looking guy. He could definitely be my boyfriend."
Liam could only shake his head as he thought he was no longer single but then remembered that he was forced into that kind of marriage so he didn't know whether he should be loyal or just have some fun.
He ignored Whitney's gazes as he came and requested for his battle. Whitney said, "Sure but I'll give you the badge if we go on a date together." Liam could not believe how shameless this girl was as he quickly said he wasn't interested and started to walk out.
Whitney laughed and said, "Well if you miss out on this badge you won't be able to qualify for the Johto league." Liam slowed down as he got a little annoyed that this was happening. He finally had to agree but he had one condition and that was to have the battle first.
She was a little iffy about it, but she agreed. Liam decided to use Riolu since he has been gaining levels extremely fast. Riolu was able to wipe the floor with Whitney's Pokémon. He had a bit of a hard time with Miltank as he kept using rollout and spinning around. The more time Miltank spent rolling, the stronger the attack.
But Riolu was eventually able to defeat Miltank and get the badge. After that win, Riolu had finally evolved into a Lucario. Liam had gotten excited about this because he absolutely loved Lucario and couldn't wait for him to get strong enough to be very helpful to him.
The battle had finished, and Whitney was ready for this day, but Liam had given a command to Shadow to use shadow movement on him. Liam started to sink into the ground through Shadow's Shadow movement.
Whitney was pissed that Liam didn't keep his word and tried to chase after him, but he had sunk into the ground as she dived and fell straight on the floor face first. She screamed so loud it seemed like half the city heard her.
Liam reappeared outside the gym as he heard the scream and thought, "Man, this girl is crazy."
He left to go get Lucario checked up at the Pokémon Center. He decided to leave the city before Whitney could find him.
As soon as he came out of the Pokémon Center, he saw Whitney with her little crew with her and thought, "There goes the crazy chick. I was just about to get away too." They tried to catch Liam and just when he was about to have Shadow do the same thing again, Whitney started sprouting some BS about keeping his word so Liam decided to take her out as they went to a restaurant nearby.
He was feeling kind of hungry, but he didn't want to deal with Whitney. She was talking the whole time about herself. Liam was bored out of his mind as he had to listen to everything this girl was saying and had zoned out a few times.
They finally finished, and Liam was ready to go. Whitney told Liam to spend the night with her causing Liam to be shocked as he thought, "This should not be happening." But he said screw it and took her to her place. After a crazy night, Liam woke up beside Whitney and he thought, "What did I just do. I was supposed to stay loyal to my wannabe wife, but I ended up with another woman. Oh well. Let's keep it moving." And so, he quickly snuck out and went to go get prepared for his next journey.
