Bab 17: Dratini
Flashback
In Black Thorn City, a Dragonite and a Charizard was having their first child in the dragon's den. A clan of Dragon-type masters built the Dragon's Den. It is hollow with an underground lake and a shrine to Dragon Pokémon. Lance from the elite four could be seen watching to make sure everything goes well, and next to him is Claire, who is the gym leader of Blackthorn City.
Their Pokemon finally came out and a beautiful silver egg to display the success in giving birth. That night they celebrated because the Pokemon of their dear gym leader and elite four trainer had given birth. A month later, the same egg was finally hatching, Dragonite quickly contacted her trainers and Charizard, and they all came to witness a beautiful looking Dratini hatching out of the egg.
Its color was different from the rest of the Dratini's in the city. Dragonite and Charizard immediately turned their backs to it, causing Clair and Lance to frown, asking them what's wrong. They quickly tell them that this Dratini is different from the others and that they will never approve of its strength due to its unique color. This surprisingly, baby Dratini understood everything they said and quickly ran off.
Lance and Claire get scared and chase after it, they yell at Charizard And Dragonite to help them track after the young baby, but they simply erupted and turned away angry that they had a son that looked so weak. Dratini witnessed all of that once again after turning its back to see whether they would even chase after him.
Once he saw that he had been abandoned, he simply took off into the ice cave.
Lance and Claire searched all over the city but could not find him eventually given up. They were furious at their partners for abandoning the baby like that, but those two parents did not care. They simply said they would have another child. Young Dratini could be seen Slytherin through the cold, due to its individual being it could feel the cold just a little bit.
He heard voices, so he quickly approached it, and it was two team rocket members looking around for the special Pokemon Delibird that somebody had requested. The number of points was a lot due to it being next to Blackthorn City, where if they are caught, they would immediately be turned over to the league, and it was noted that there were a lot of durable trainers in that City. Hence, nobody wanted to take this request until does two bold trainers decided to take on this request because they needed the points to get a specific device, which will boost the rate of Pokemon they steal from the wild.
Dratini, not knowing who these people are, immediately runs up to them and hugs one of the trainer's feet. The trainer was surprised and immediately captured Dratini and locks it into cage surprising Dratini. This trainer was excited to have finally struck gold, it also looks special and not like the normal dratini's, so he immediately knew it was a shiny Pokemon because of the silver coating on it. They quickly finished the mission and headed back to their base.
At the base, once they finished cashing in the delivered mission, they went to inspect the Dratini that they had caught looking at the silver Dratini, they started rolling with money signs in their eyes. They wanted to sell it to get some cash to buy more equipment to steal more Pokemon. They quickly took it to the black market where there was an auction being held. When the manager saw what they were selling immediately, got excited, and said, this would be the highlight of today's sales that was multiple families were coming to.
The Dragon family, the Oak family, and there was even Cynthia's family from the Sinnoh region also present. When they all saw this Pokemon, they all wanted a piece of it, but there was a certain young Master there. A young Master from the Blaine family that wanted that Dratini. He spent millions of poke dollars just to purchase it and even threatened all the other family's to stop bidding for it. Still, they ignored him and continue to offer until they could not bear it anymore, and young master Blaine had won dratini.
When he got home that night, he was excited to have this rare looking Dratini. Dratini was scared and confused; he was in an unknown place with an unknown person, and honestly, he did not like the look of the person that was in front of him right now. He struggled to get out, but it was no use; this cage was enforced enough to keep a Dragonite put, so he struggled in vain.
The next coming days, young Blaine tried to capture the dratini but failed every time because he would pop right out, so he just gave up on it and went on to the next thing. He had so many other Pokemon, so he didn't care. Many of them were just in cages for sightseeing and decoration. The Blaine family was located on Cinnabar island, where they mostly dealt with fire Pokemon.
Dratini stared at the magnificent looking volcano every night before falling asleep, wishing that he could take a dip in there. When they got out finally to stretch out in the backyard of their mansion. Dratini had planned his escape, and he had made contact with the older Pokemon. Still, at that point, those other Pokemon have given up any kind of Hope of escaping, and they weren't as smart as the silver Dratini who could understand anything as soon as he was born.
He convinced them to make a ladder for him by stepping on each other to get over the fence. Doing this little bridge, dratini quickly hopped over the wall and escaped diving into the water. The Pokemon trainers came out surprised because only one other Pokemon has vanished from their clutches before, and it had gotten lucky. Dratini made his way up the ocean, but the Blaine family was right behind his tail.
There was an island up ahead where he saw a beautiful looking bird circling the island, so he called out to it. This was the legendary ice Pokemon Articuno which heard the cry and shot a powerful ice beam towards the water, making a beautiful wall that blocked the Blaine family goons from chasing any further. They returned and told the young master what had happened pissing him off because he spent a lot of money on him and didn't want to give up the search, so he told his parents he's going out for some time and took some goons with him on his journey.
Dratini thanked Articuno, who gifted dratini with one of her feathers, which she empowered with ice power. Swimming on towards wherever he could hope that could be his new home for him, our young Dratini traveled long and far. He got into many Pokemon battles; he was quickly and improved in survival and battling. He even met some Pokemon that were nice enough to give him some guidance.
Every day he leveled up due to his intelligence he was able to learn some moves from his mother's side and father's side, because he was in the water most of the time, he learned how to use a lot of water moves and even learn how to use a fire move in the water if anybody saw this they would be shocked because this was a super rare move call aqua fire.
He also learned how to use electric moves thanks to a lantern that he had gotten lessons from. He was enjoying his life in the sea, going freely from one place to another. A few sailors and fishers try to catch him, but due to his strength, he was able to overcome them and escape quickly. He was quite fast for a Dratini of his age and was able to avoid the danger most of the time easily.
He had gotten into a fight once where he almost lost his life. It was a purple Golduck that had went berserk deep in the ocean; it was going in and out of the water swimming and accidentally bumped into Dratini, causing a fight. Dratini was on the losing end until he used aqua fire, which surprised Golduck, causing him some damage because he couldn't Dodge it due to being so close. That scared Golduck away, but Dratini had still gotten hurt and had fainted after Golduck had left.
He woke up the next morning with a headache and a scar on his left eye, which honestly made him look powerful and fresh. He had traveled around a lot of seas and then eventually reached the Vermillion City Port. That's when he saw the boat S.S. Anne and decided to take a look because he's never seen a ship that big, but as soon as he popped his head out of the water to check it out, that's when Liam had caught his eyes.
Liam couldn't see her well, but as soon as he noticed it was a Dratini around this area, he took advantage of the opportunity and tried to catch him right away. No matter how fast he tried to swim away, he was still caught up to, and for the first time, he passed out and woke up in a strange place and knew immediately that he had gotten captured. He wondered how his trainer would be and decided just to let it be—hopefully hoping that it will be an excellent trainer and that he had finally found a home for himself.
