An hour had passed since I first arrived, and still, no one had shown up. As time went on, the room began to empty out, one person at a time. Gradually, the once lively atmosphere turned eerily quiet, until it seemed like everyone had gone home.

I glanced at the empty glass that had once held juice. It had been refreshing at the time, but now it seemed to mock my growing discomfort. They had brought me a plate of food as well, but my appetite had vanished, leaving the food untouched.

Earlier, in my rush, I had forgotten to bring my phone. It now felt like a crucial mistake, as I had no way to call or text Zairon to find out where he was or what had happened. The sense of isolation was growing stronger with each passing minute.

I quickly stood up when I saw Zachary approaching me. "Zach, Zairon hasn't arrived yet."
