The entire castle was empty.

There was nothing among the forces of the warlock that roamed around in the castle.

But this was not because of the carelessness of the Warlock.

His magic had scanned the entire area when the massive block of ice fell.

The harsh cold of the Necromancer Vampire was so strong that not even Brayvions could survive within the ice block.

The entire castle was scanned for life when the Warlock used the castle's power to see the presence of any life or unlife.

But there was none. All it detected was ice.

And indeed, there was only ice, for the Sorrowful Maiden was spoken of as the trustworthy source of ice.

Her sister and Wintress were so assimilated in the ice that the Necromancer crafted that even a Divine could have been fooled. It was as if their very flesh was all ice!
